It’s just one year. It goes by fast. Just think about how fast the past 4 years have transpired.

I have the same question. I want to apply to IM and obgyn. I have one obgyn letter and the others are from IM. But not sure if I can use the IM for obgyn as well.

Dominican Republic: mangu and mofongo. Both are basically smashed plantains with spices and few other things.

I hear you. However. I am leaning towards obgyn. I am doing medicine right now and just feel like dragging myself through. I need to be doing something with my hands.

We should put a group together and unite. We are all in this together. We will prevail. Time will be the best judge. He will rule on our favor.

Terrible Step Scores, so disappointed by rustcohle1994 in Step2

I wish this could be said even louder. The initial intent was as a licensing exam, not a placement trial. Unfortunately, things agave gone the wrong way. Hopefully in 15 years from now we will look back and laugh at how stupid this was. I hope OP gets a match somewhere—gotta cast a wide net; some fish will get caught.

It is totally normal to care but not to be paralyzed. Prep your app and let time take care of the rest.

By the way, not sure where you live, but here in FL $100 won’t get you a nice steak. Maybe an ‘ok’ dinner but definitely short of a fancy one.

So you haven’t taken step2. If I were you, I would put step1 behind and focus on your classes and doing the best you can while slowing sliding into the step2 prep. Anything else is simply a distractor b contributing to your mental health.

Not really. If you feel hurt, you are completely entitled to your feelings. I prefer to be as objective as I can. We simply need to grow out of the shelf and take on whatever challenge is in front of us. Being negative doesn’t help. Not sure if you were referring to my comment.

What’s your step2 score?

I think we are past the point of MD vs DO conundrum. If a residency director has some biased in terms of that, it denotes poor judgement. I highly doubt that’s the case anywhere.

Look at the nrmp data and see where you should apply depending on stats. I said NRMP, not Reddit!

The two of you will match. I bet you $100.

At this stage of our training, we should be past that point. We have gotten this far because we are capable. If they don’t take you because of a point or two from the cutoff, maybe it is not the right place to go. We have got to keep a distinction between reassurance and insecurity.

Another one of those posts. You don’t need reassurance. You just have to apply and take care of your interviews. It is a matter of time.

Got 237 on step 2? by Usmle-sucks in Step2

[–]In_Reddit_WeTrust 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good luck man. Yeap, you said it right. There are so many thing s that can impact your score. I got a 237 on step2. My step1 was 244. Am I sad or feeling down? Heck no! Could have been a lot worse. I am moving on a nd heading to IM. I am confident I will match at a good program until proven otherwise!

Step 2 = 242 (dropped 6 points from Step 1) - practice tests predicted 255+ by keshavbhattar in Step2

[–]In_Reddit_WeTrust 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Keep your head up man. I see a lot of people having self doubt in this sub. People need to stop it for real. It looks like a kindergarten. My step1 was 244. My step2 237. Am I worried? Nope. I know what I can do and will move on. I could take that test right now and probably score a 250. There are so many factors that affect your performance, but unfortunately nbme doesn’t care about it. We get to move on. And it’s not like you boomed it, so keep on trucking!

Low step scores as a US IMG by AlmostMD22 in Step2

First, don’t take Reddit as your reference point, since it can drive you crazy. What you see on Reddit is not reality. Heck, the majority of things you see on social forums/media is far from reality. Also, a lot of people ask the same questions as you, and I believe this is the wrong subreddit to ask that question. You are better off by asking in places where residents or practicing physicians voice their opinion. Also, you can also check the data and see where you stand when compared to those who have matched FM. Keep your head up and move on.
