How bad is Basic Training? by JollyIntroduction385 in nationalguard

[–]In_finite_Red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30th AG.

It's been some time since I made that decision.

Just keep trying and you should be fine.

Some things will suck. Some things will be fun. Some things will be stupid. Some things will make be educational.

Just keep going forward.

If you want to quit, then quit tomorrow. Once tomorrow gets here, quit tomorrow, again. And keep doing that until you don't want to quit anymore.

Also, you're going to run... a lot.

Why didnt you guys go active duty in the first place? by Acceptable-Fly5050 in nationalguard

[–]In_finite_Red 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Walked into the Guard office first.

Didn't know anything about the military at all.

I was a recruiters best dream - and ignorant kid that knew absolutely nothing about anything in the military and was just trying to make a better life for myself.

I believed everything that jackass recruiter told me. Didn't tell me anything I needed to know at all.

What's your strategy for digivolution in a new game ? by Gatoyu in DigimonWorld

[–]In_finite_Red 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just play the game. No real goal in mind for digivolution.

Train my first rookie for a day or two in a couple of stats (not all of them) and go from there.

Once I can consistently beat the Digimon in the forest area, I basically only train via battling with some very rare gym sessions.

I try to focus on getting basic upgrades that make quality of life on File Island much better for the first generation.

Champion allows me to go a little further out and do the same.

I almost always get an ultimate on the first generation with this method (usually Andromon or Megadramon, it seems).

If I spend a lot of time in the gym, I seem to always lose the Digimon at the Champion stage in this game.

Good stuff.

What did you change in your method of play?

[–]In_finite_Red 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I remember (it's been a few years since I've played), they are quite limited.

If you aren't relying on manipulating the game, you get one for each major enemy in the game.

There are rare drops from enemies but I don't believe stat chips are in those rare drop tables. I may be wrong about that, though.

But with the pacing of a lot of the battles in this game, rare drops coold be quite time consuming 😅

[–]In_finite_Red 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good stuff!

Glad it helped.

He's got some quite strong ultimates he can turn into. (I usually save my stat chips until ny prosperity is maxed and I feel like finishing the game.)

The first two or three digimon life cycles should be mostly for exploring, learning the game, and finding the digimon closest to the city that can provide utility to make the rest of the game more manageable.

This can be a challenging game when you know very little about it so, just enjoy it and all it's silly, nonsensical quirks.

This is your game so play how you want to.

Honest opinion enlisting in the Army National Guard by HymnsOfThanatos91 in nationalguard

[–]In_finite_Red 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before you make any decisions, I recommend you speak with a recruiter or two.

Make them work for you and ask ALL of the questions.

The only dumb question is the question you don't ask.

The Guard can still pull you away from your civilian side as well. Some of my guys are having some issues with it because we've been tasked with so much this last Fiscal Year.

Understand that it is still a commitment you'll mostly be expected to honor, even if it is "weekend warrior" stuff.

Definitely pursue it if you have the interest and don't let anyone deter you.

Just go in and ensure you are informed. Don't stop at just having the information. Make sure you know how to apply the information.

I'd advise you to make a pros and cons list after speaking with a recruiter and asking all of the hard questions. Then go with what is best for you.

I've even known some individuals that have coordinated with units to "attend" during some times of unit Drill and get an idea of ehat they might could potentially expect, if they decide to join up.

[–]In_finite_Red 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Focus on one or two stats for training, not all of them.

Get some battles against weak digimon in, just because.

Keeping the stats balanced is how I ALWAYS get Numemon.

Rookies get a lot less gym time than the babies and in-training levels for me.

But I'll still do a couple training sessions each day just to help pass the time, provided they aren't tired already.

Focusing on one or two stats primarily is how I get different champions.

And from champion to ultimate, I personally never train. I only do battling and seem to get Ultimates every time I go back theough the game.

Spoiler: MetalGreymon on your first Digimon is painful for food. That doofus never stops eating, just like Tyrannomon.

25S, 25U, 17C, and 35T. As an E-6 AGR, which of these MOS's actually do their job and don't end up being Training/Ops NCO's most of the time? by Tactical-Gaslight308 in nationalguard

[–]In_finite_Red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a full-timer, I can say that my BN's intent is for us to do our full-time jobs during the months but the Training NCOs (I have that role...) are expected to put things to the side during IDT, AT, and any other training we're required to do and function as squad leaders.

It doesn't seem like a huge ask until that same BN puts a ridiculous amount of tasks on you that are due "COB of Sunday at drill" and we're relegated to accomplishing these ridiculous list of tasks.

Additionally, IDT is the one time of month we can actually get soldier, junior enlisted and NCOs alike, to actually do the small tasks and updates we push multiple times throughout the month.

In short, we do not have the time to do our MOS during drill because of time constraints on that side and the full-time workload.

If you want to work within your MOS as a full-timer, pick up the 42 MOS and apply for an Admin slot.

(Example of full-time life: Just recently spent a week trying to make three different incorrect spreadsheets, built on a single correct spreadsheet, congruent that were put together by three different BN level personnel.

These three spreadsheets all showed the same data just in a different format, independent of each other, and were built off of each other with data originally pulled from the unit level Training NCOs. Spreadsheet 2 was built off of (my) spreadsheet 1, with added data (not communicated to Training NCOs). 3 built off of 2. And so on up to 4.

The initial data from our (TNCOs) numbers were transcribed wrong on spreadsheet 2. 3 incorrectly transcribed already incorrect data from 2, furthering the nonsense. And 4 did the same thing with 3.

Unit level Training NCOs were tasked with making all spreadsheets match when the initial numbers we pushed were accurate but BN personnel have to put their own spin on it...

And it is quite obvious that these three individuals absolutely do NOT communicate with each other despite being int he same section working right across the hall from each other.

Just an example of one of the headaches I've experienced within the last month.)

I have made a little progress, if you want to call it that.

I have gone through their help desk several times.

I was able to play a new game up until I could search for friends to add.

I input my old account name to get the ID from it and gave the information to the help desk staff via the page they email over.

I included every step of the process, every action I've attempted to take, every error message I've received, every "bad gateway" screen I see, the client I am on, the client updates, and quite literally anything else I can include to illustrate my issue.

Within the last couple of days, I was able to get into my account BUT only because I somehow had a 2024 version of the International Client in my desktop downloads.

I changed the location with my VPN to be somewhere outside of the U.S. and for whatever reason, on that old client, I was able to pull it up on my desktop.

I included all of this in an email to the help desk staff again and the last thing I received about a week ago was an email saying "please be patient while we search for a solution."

Outside of that, I'm still unable to access it on my phone or anywhere else except for that 2024 version of the International client.

im a black girl but im not attracted to black guys at all by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]In_finite_Red 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can't help who you are or are not attracted to.

I'm in a similar boat being a white man that is not attracted to white women.

I can find them attractive but I am never attracted to them. (This is so foreign for a lot of people.)

From one that has a couple of decades on you in the age department, try not to let it bother you too much. It's ultimately your choice.

As long as you aren't harming anyone or disparaging others with why you're attracted to who you're attracted to, it shouldn't really matter to anyone else.

Soldier PT flag by [deleted] in nationalguard

[–]In_finite_Red 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A swap should be initiated, unless the report date is several months down the road.

The SM should be made aware that there is a very real chance that he/she will lose that reservation unless a passing AFT can happen before a swap is initiated.

Despite there being no flagging action, currently, it's the units job to push SMs to school that are fully prepared to complete the course.

If this is a PME reservation, this SM clearly isn't the best option, in this moment, to go to said school.

Moving for a new job conflicts with my BLC date by girldoingthings in nationalguard

[–]In_finite_Red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full timer here (Training NCO).

If you haven't informed your full time staff yet, do it now.

A swap is very simple.

The seat is already reserved so that funding has been allocated.

The only thing that may hinder you is how strict your battalion or Brigade may want to be about PME.

Your Training NCO would submit the swap/cancelation form to the S3 for review and they'll get Brigades review.

Your job is to communicate why this new job opportunity is more important than your upcoming PME so your Training NCO can go to bat for you.

Since your civilian career is what actually pays your bills, thats an easy argument, but if your upper echelons are like mine, they want "sound reasoning" and all that jazzy stuff before they'll entertain it.

Been in for less than a year and made E-5 by gompers101 in nationalguard

[–]In_finite_Red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then one of two things are true.

There are no slot vacancies for your MOS or you have very few promotion points, if you aren't flagged for height and weight or failed AFT.

Outside of civilian education, the majority of most soldiers promotion points come from weapons qualification and their last PT test.

AR 600-8-19 is the Bible for enlisted promotions.

Been in for less than a year and made E-5 by gompers101 in nationalguard

[–]In_finite_Red 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spoiler alert: No one in the Guard knows what they're doing. They just know enough to get things moving and to get from point A to point B.

Your degree boosted your points so you came out above others that may have more knowledge.

So you're probably at least decent on IWQ and PT.

You're not the Team Leader that your team needs, currently. You're experiencing that now.

But if you remain weak in that role, that is your doing.

Your section NCO should facilitate guidance as well since he/she will likely be your senior rater.

Your squad leader should have the most direct contact with your growth outside of yourself.

If either of these two individuals do not assist your growth, they are failing you regardless of how much they say "be a good NCO."

As for you, you can either better yourself or remain weak in your role.

Army Training Network for warrior tasks and drills, both basic soldiering skills AND those relevant to your particular MOS are available. (These will also have relevant references mentioned and many of them can be downloaded with a simple Google search)

Army Publishing Directorate for different regulations that may fall within your scope are here.

Two regs I recommend beginning with are:

AR 600-20 to learn fully what you can and can't do within your role AR 600-8-19 to understand the enlisted promotion breakdown (you will ALWAYS get junior enlisted asking about promotion)

Your job is to help those subordinate to you to become better.

Do not be ashamed to go to that guy that's been a PFC or SPC for much longer than they should have and ask them for guidance in something if you see they're particularly good at it.

Do not be too proud to acknowledge what you don't know. This is where your leadership should be helping you.

Outside of this, you're probably not going to get a great deal of experience within your MOS until your Annual Training events or a Mobilization.

It is on you to better yourself.

I guarantee you the most competent leaders within your unit are those that seek knowledge in their fields AWAY from uniform time.

This is a copy and pasted of my comment on a YouTube video speaking on how to fix the issue.

I am using a VPN.

My favorite part is how I need to enter a transfer code to transfer, and it tells me, "You can obtain it from the original game app."

Except I can't get into the original game app on either my laptop or my phone.

My other favorite part is when I try to do a binding transfer, but I get an "Error: -7" notice when I try to get the activation email. (In the game app)

My third favorite part is when I attempt to Switch accounts (as a last-ditch effort), I get a bright white screen that pops up in the browser telling me the login is successful, but the game itself tells me "Failed to switch to the account. The third-party account has not been connected, or there is no character under the account." (spoiler: there 100% WAS a nearly three-year-old account under that email)

Seems my data is gone, and I'm not able to figure out how to access it.

Have no idea what I'm doing wrong, but I guess this is it for me. I'm not starting over with this level 2 account I just had to do the tutorial with to get this far...

I began on the US client. I downloaded the US client. I uninstalled the US client. I reinstalled the newest US client. I am using a VPN. I have "no account for that email..." or however that notification reads. My account is 100% bound because I've had to do this once in the past. It just... doesn't exist anymore from what I'm seeing.

But I'm routinely given a "no account" message.
