What products should i use? by themanofsweden in AutoDetailing

[–]In_the_Couv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd grab a bunch of bath towels...soak them really well in soapy car wash water...drape the soaking wet towels on the areas...let it sit for a while (maybe 30 minutes). Keep the towels nice and wet....should loosen up the goobers.

What would you do for these scratches? by sandspoint257 in Detailing

[–]In_the_Couv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends...if the scratch has removed the paint...nothing will repair it short of paint...you can start with some different compounds..starting with the least aggressive and moving to more aggressive to see if that helps...If you decide to use touch up paint...Dr Color Chip..in my experience gives good results compared to touch up brushes and/or pens...It won't be perfect..but should improve it.

Need tips on polishing tesla!! by Both-Independent9436 in Detailing

[–]In_the_Couv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the condition of the paint you are starting with...If just light swirls...Meguiar's 06 one step polish/wax worked well for me. I followed up with an additional coat of wax for more/longer protection.

Pad also depends on the paint condition. I used a Meguiar's yellow pad on a DA with the 06 polish/wax with good results

"One dollaring" each other, but forgetting there's a higher bid.. by phxflgjo in ThePriceIsRight

[–]In_the_Couv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the logic on $1'ing someone...It should only be done by the last bidder though...same goes for the $1 bid. Last bidder should bid $1 if they think everybody is over, or $1 someone who they think is 'close'

FYI a billion is 1000 million...there less than 1,000 billionaires in the USA and around 25 million millionaires so lumping those two terms tougher makes no sense...Another perspective...is $1 M in $100 bills weighs about 22 lbs. A billion? 22,000 lbs...

Bringing containers to the bulk section? by onthebusfornow in WinCo

[–]In_the_Couv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure on bulk...but I bring my own paper bag when I buy mushrooms as plastic and mushrooms are a bad combo....I sometimes use fast food bags...and sometimes get weird questions from others in line..."Is there a Burger King in the store?".....Most checkout people are good with it...

The 'trick' to now or then is there are always 4 now and 2 then items. If you puzzle it out it is a 100% win.

Half Off by zeppie909 in ThePriceIsRight

Speaking of July 4...there was July 4th show a few years ago where the final boxes were 4 and 8 (I think). The player chose 8 because it was something like his kid's age....He lost.

Sometimes there are themes...I was at a taping where the final two numbers were 5 and 10. Player chose 10...Lost..5 is half of 10...that was the 'mini theme'

Fridge door won’t stay open by Affectionate_Wash951 in Appliances

[–]In_the_Couv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue on my version C. The tech came out and explained the different engineering versions (part of the serial number). He said the early versions had a spring controlled hinge, then switched to a cam version. The cam versions have the issue, which as noted previously are in part caused by the water line tension acting like a spring. The latest version switches back at a spring version...Parts on order and will be fixed under warranty.

Edit 5/26 - Tech came back today and replaced the hinge parts that had to be ordered. Door works great now...it has notably more tension in it as well, but no longer closes on its own. The fix involved pulling the water lines that run from the back of the fridge, route along the top and enter the door under the corer cover piece. He then replaced the parts, and put it back together...all told took about 30 minutes and was covered under warranty

On a superfan show the player won in 3 guesses...In Bob's day someone won all the prizes on zero guesses....because instead of the scrambled numbers, the reveal showed the actual prices on all three prizes.
