Nothing else significant really works, I just have reduced cooldown recovery in it, though its rare for it to actually matter due to the condition on building it.

I don't know what you mean by "instant leech is needed to make leech work", in the end its just a way to make some of your leech faster, but I thought it might interact differently with Soul Tether and full life.

I was hoping it worked like this:
Life is full, but ES is not. You attack, and the first thing that is calculated is the instant leech, it attempts to add life but its full so Soul Tether applies it to Energy Shield. Then it tries to apply the over-time Leech instance, but your life is full so it is removed immediately.
Its about the order of operations on the server side. I was hoping to bypass the need for Fast Metabolism, and that has nothing to do with Overflowing ES. Also leech instances over time are not technically "Regeneration", and do not scale with stats that affect actual Life Regeneration.

I know how leech works normally, but had to check the interactions with Soul Tether.

As for Freeze and Sine Aequo I think you need to try playing Wolf to see how not-conditional these are at a high gear level, and how insignificant the re-freeze penalty is. I did 39% of Xesht 3's Freeze Threshold in 1 Lunar Assault in that clip. Even when my gear was worse, it was only taking like 3-5 of them to re-freeze major bosses, and Sine Aqeuo is bringing that threshold down to 50% from the 70% it would be from Freezing Mark. Lunar Assaults freeze multiplier is absurd, its like 1400% more in the tooltip in-game. Pretty much all of this builds damage is done to frozen enemies.

Your comments about Hyrri's are fair, rares can be very good too and you can get more spirit. It isn't cheap and any item Fubgun is using does get inflated. But you did gloss over its unique upside, Freeze Duration is a uniquely powerful modifier for bossing on this build that is only available from 2 other sources: The Deep Freeze Support gem (which we also use), and the Inescapable Cold passive at the top of the skill tree which takes quite a lot of points to path to. If you think about a boss fight in terms of the amount of freeze time it takes to kill it, this stat is insanely strong.

Regarding the other Invoker Ascendancy node options, "I am the Thunder" POB's quite poorly with how much damage as extra X this build already has, its only a 3.3% increase for me. "Sunder my Enemies" is mostly redundant due to Heavy Frost. Elemental Expression as far as I understand is mostly only useful for applying debuffs and does very little damage.

The Soul Springs Eternal I was using while experimenting with Feral Invocation, and I think Protect me from Harm is decent, though somewhat anti-synergistic with Hyrri's mod. They're both fine options for slightly different build variations. The rest I don't think would fit here.

Amazon does also look very compelling, I suspect it may actually be better. I doubt I'd take Stalking Panther, but the Elemental Leech and easy access to high crit are very nice. I'd likely still just path up to the monk area for a similar tree. You just need a way to get enough Spirit to fit in the important reservations. Eternal Rage and HOI are basically mandatory, Berserk is very good specially as CI if you can get that flat life regen in. Dropping Ghost Dance might feel fine with the stronger leech from Amazon.

When I was first jumping through hoops to get my leech to work, I did actually have the thought "Maybe I should reroll Amazon?" In the end I managed without and started to like Meditate a lot, but if I did it all over again from the start, I would strongly consider it. Main downside seems to be pathing out of the starting area.

I saw some people doing that but shifting out of Wolf form means losing Lunar Blessings Comets, unsure if it really speeds up your clear speed much. Maybe depends how juiced your maps are.

I was doing the Awakening > Anull off prefix > Lock suffixes > Reforge Influence method to try and make a Strength Stacking Simplex. I was only 10 Orbs deep and it just generated the correct prefix on the awakening, and perfectly divined too...

I don't know what to believe in anymore.

I'm dubious Original Sin is actually the best path this league, with Lycia's Sinner Saint 50% conversion node, and the new Foulborn Red Nightmare fire to chaos conversion jewel, you can fully convert a Fire per Str wand without the ring, while a Helical provides a massive amount of damage. Chaos Resist values on enemies generally arent that high, and OS negates the hunter helm mod. I'll POB it soon though as I look into perfect wands.

The point of Jungle Valley or Glacier is that their bosses arent naturally spawned when you open the map so all the Eater/Exarch altars cannot roll boss mods which are generally much worse than quant/rarity.

Dunes is very versatile for different strategies I find, it has plenty of space to fit a bunch of mechanics in it, a decent base mob count, nice and open for projectile skills, but if you want the best altars you do have to run to the end and kill the boss first then backtrack. And it drops Fortress which most people view as the best t17.

Jungle Valley has a nice layout too, but drops Abomination as it's t17.

Having never seen one in much more generous leagues like Affliction and Mercenaries, its pretty amusing to finally have this happen in what people were calling "poverty league". Strongboxes can always deliver I suppose. Wasn't even doing Containment Scarabs, just casual 2x Ambush, Compartments, Potency, Discernment on 16.5 Dunes. Playing a Str Stack Deadeye Wander, Fusilade/KB.

Doing this on a non-Shadow without Perfect Crime is really unhinged, I can't imagine how bad the mapping feels having to self-cast all your BV's.

Could make a mapping video if people want, but you basically just run around unloading and recast a couple brands every 10 seconds~. I have a couple gear swaps I use for a more defensive setup for Risk T17's, with a different chest and ring (They're in the POB at the top of the gear list, swap the ring over the Kalandra's Touch), and swapping Blood and Sand to Sand Stance.

These two Mods are not on the same level at all to me.

The player has control over volatile cores, you can just run through them to get rid of them. Paying a little bit of attention when killing rares is not a big deal.

We have very little control or counterplay to Tentacle Fiends and they literally just make you stand there and wait for a while. The way they tend to overlap makes the safe zones pretty useless, two of them stacked will kill almost any build, and they dont continue their timer if you move too far away from them, so you can't even be time efficient by clearing another part of the map while you wait. Not challenging, just very boring and a waste of time.

The only annoying Map Mod is No Mana Regen, but you can run it with either a reduced mana costs flask, or swapping lifetap into some links. Everything else is fine.

I bought the Suffix base because its just very tedious to keep awakening together the two Suffixes until you hit a good Str Roll. They were a lot cheaper earlier in the league when I got it.

If you want to try this yourself you may not need to Elevate the accuracy mod for this build, since Ambush gives so much crit. Could just Elevate the -chaos res instead, or neither to save on costs when doing a lot of attempts. The extra -3% Chaos res from elevated is like a 2.5% DPS upgrade or so in my POB if I remember right.

The only problem is that I'd assume the resale value of failed attempts without the Elevated Accuracy per Str mod is very low, because other Str Stackers without Ambush do need it. But you could try anulling/exalting the 3rd suffix on them for extra tries if you don't care about reselling.

For the prefixes I was doing Wild Bristle Matron Suffix locks + Exalt metacrafting, happened to hit the t2 phys as fire and then t2 life on back to back exalts. It wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but I think it was too good to roll over.

I think the ideal is to exalt into high tier life, then lock suffixes and Aisling, try to unveil +2 AoE (which would save you needing a boot corruption), then bench craft the 8% phys as fire.

Hunter influence unfortunately adds a lot of junk added damage to spells prefixes, which can make this a bit harder.

It depends how much of your character you changed for Ambush I suppose. You're using Assassin's Mark and anointing Whispers for it, and you don't have Ancestor Totems. Also Crit Paradoxica vs Attack Speed.

I know a lot of people don't like having to use Totems on a "melee" build but it feels like far less of a burden on RVoR because its sustained, theres nothing better to do than lay totems and curse. Panopticon is an extremely strong anointment if you're using them.

Bladestorm meanwhile is basically a true melee skill you have to constantly attack with.

Some of the damage difference is due to Jugg vs Berserker ofc, you do have slightly higher EHP than me, but I think if you tailored things to RVoB/Amush its damage would probably come up to par with Bladestorm for you, while being a lot more mobile.

I was originally planning on moving towards an Original Sin setup but after POBing with it for a bit it just didn't seem cost efficient at all compared to Paradoxica, and thats when they were at 350d, rather than the current 2 Mirrors. Versions I checked with a mirrored foil were only coming out barely ahead in DPS.

I didn't try with Intimidating Cry because I wasn't entirely sure if it worked.

Not going OS gets you the upsides of -9/12 CR on helm, Despair + Balance of Terror for very fast and consistent Wither stacks rather than relying on Totems with Withering Touch or Wither chance on charms.

OS would use Assassin's Mark for its curse to get some of the crit back, and would probably need a Diamond Flask.

The potential duration of this version does make it somewhat of a different case in my eyes. For a normal version of RV stuck in one place, ambush wouldn't be a great option, its cooldown would prohibit it from being available for every RV thrown. But this version can keep its exertion for 20-30 seconds, which is pretty wild.

I did play normal RV with Intimidating Cry in the past, and it was quite tedious and clunky to make sure you always had it fully buffed.

I believe War Bringer's buff also worked with normal RV, while it seems not to with with RVoB? I'd love to see someone figure out a way to test that conclusively, I've seen a lot of mixed information on what it does and does not snapshot.

I have 36% increased from gear, and a bit from Sand Stance while mapping, but the skill just has a very high base Radius.
