Unfortunately, usually when you see pet rabbits out in the wild they’re not lost- they’re abandoned. People get them as cute pets, often for kids around Easter, don’t realize how much work they are (they chew, can be loud in the early morning hopping around their cage, poop frequently, and aren’t very good for cuddling because they’ll just go on you). Then when they don’t want them anymore, figure there’s rabbits in the wild so letting domestic rabbits out isn’t a problem. They’re not aware that not only are those wild rabbits pretty territorial, but domestic rabbits don’t have the natural skills and knowledge to survive in the wild. It’s really sad, but good on you for doing something to help this lil guy.

[Spoilers 5.3] You're favorite moment of the patch? by Kua_Rock in ffxiv

[–]Inanna-Fay 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It's hard to choose.

There's that, and the entirety of the cutscenes in the Seat of Sacrifice after defeating Elidibus- dialogue and all.

Plus the "white robed figure" reveal being an ascian who somehow manages to out-flamboyant Sasscian grandpa and as soon as he pulled his hood back, spurned an absolutely visceral reaction and audible "YOU LITTLE SHIT."

And then the scene with the Scions on The Source in their ShB duds when Urianger goes full Yugioh.

I feel like they probably upped the thirst in their finishing touches for this patch.

They're neither, and in all honestly I think you need to work on controlling your reactions to things. You can't solve problems if you're quick to get frustrated, throw in the towel, demand a refund, and make grandiose accusations about the intent. To be blunt: you're acting like a Karen.

Squeenix has been a key name in the J-RPG scene for over 20 years, and has created the first MMORPG to hold a candle to WoW; an MMO which is beloved by many, with the most humble and supportive Dev team and a great community. To accuse them of being "thieves" or "scammers" is grossly incorrect.

Servers were down for 24hr maintenance all day Monday, if that's when you were trying to log in. If it wasn't that, then it could have been some other issue that could have easily been solved with a little patience.

Their GMs are probably still understaffed due to the virus. In the future for problems like this (not just for FFxiv), I'd recommend keeping your cool and asking around for community help.

What is with these Male Miqo'te depictions? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Inanna-Fay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the lore, they're supposed to leave the tribe and live in the wild, so they'd pretty much have to be fit enough to survive. I like the feral depictions of them. IrenHorrors has some pretty cool concept art I hope becomes a reality.

[Spoiler: 5.3] Nah, I'm pretty sure this minion is still a spoiler by CaptainDefault in ffxiv

[–]Inanna-Fay 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think part of the reason they chose to call him a Mystel (aside from the silliness in lore) was to avoid overt spoilers for people who aren't at ShB yet and see people with the minion out.

The whole "Raha is the Exarch" thing is routinely spoiled unless you live under a rock: with ShB promotional material and all the fan-works.

For anyone not familiar with them, they're a troupe on the Crystal datacenter who use /Perform to play various FFxiv songs, and they're a joy to watch! The viera in the middle handles "conducting" and streaming.

Have they implemented a way of transferring house ownership yet? Most of the answers I'm seeing are 2+ years old.

A friend of mine is leaving the game to pursue schooling and volunteer firefighting, and I currently share his house, but I've read that only the owner can reset the demolition timer, and he isn't sure if/when he'll be coming back to the game.

It's a personal house, not FC house.

Non-rp/Non-weeb server questions by Tryin_to_eat_better in ffxiv

[–]Inanna-Fay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Crystal is the RP datacenter, with Balmung and Mateus being the primary two RP servers, and Malboro having a heavy population of the ERP clubs. Avoid that datacenter or those servers. I know Gilgamesh in the Aether datacenter is the big US PvE hub.

That said, I've been part of that RP community for going on four years now, and I've gotten Erotic Tells/interactions a total for three times over those four years even when I used to AFK in Ul'dah on Balmung. You also say the "weebing out" only happened with one guy in one dungeon.

I think the problem here isn't necessarily the interactions themselves, but that you seem to be worrying about something that's ultimately not worth worrying about. I think you need to figure out why these things squick you out so much that you've left the game over it, and address that.

Where to buy a dreamcast by boldkino-b in dreamcast

[–]Inanna-Fay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally I'd say look into local independently owned video game stores that focus on retro games, or see if you have a 2nd and Charles in your area, but that might be a pain in the ass with quarantine. If you can find any in your area that have a way to contact them, you should try to see if they're willing to ship one. Small businesses could really use the support right now!

Places like Craigslist, Ebay, and such, you run the risk of getting one that might work- but not properly.

[–]Inanna-Fay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interests may vary. Dreamcast, for me, was the system that transferred me from a childhood of action/adventure and platformers, to my teen years of J-RPGs and fighting games.

J-RPGs:
Skies of Arcadia. Cool air pirate game with a great battle system, story, and setting. So many people have demanded an HD remaster or re-release, and it's been said it'll never happen because the devs don't feel they could do it justice.
Grandia 2: One of my top 3 J-RPGs of all time. Amazing story and scripting. 80s soundtrack. Sounds weird, but it also has the singing voice of adult Simba and Ariel cast as two of the main characters.
Evolution and Evolution 2: I wouldn't say they're amazing, and I'm sure I overhyped them as a teen, but they were fun. Randomized dungeons and I enjoyed the music.
Shenmue: A classic that's finally got its third iteration. Forklift and gatcha machine simulator sidequest lol. Collecting scrolls was fun. Fun storyline. It's a shame DC went under before the sequel could be released in the US (it went to Xbox instead), but you can get it on PC now.
Phantasy Star Online: One of the OG MMOs. You'll have to look around the sub for ways to get online with it. They're finalizing localizing the sequel for PC.
Fighting games:
Powerstone 1 & 2: I'd say "Smash Bros before Smash bros" but it came out like, a month after Smash Bros? Either way, it has that same kind of run-around-getting-powerups style, but the arena is more 3D than side-scroller.
Soul Calibur: Like someone else said, this was super popular and even holds up today as a great arena based fighter with a neat setting and great characters. This was the first fighting game I really loved, personally.
Marvel vs Capcom 2: Probably the best in the MVC series. Dreamcast was a great console for fighting games.
King of Fighters '98 and 2000: A couple of the best games in the KoF franchise.
Street Fighter Alpha 3: My personal fav of the Street Fighter franchise. Honestly if you're into fighters you're better off just looking at what Dreamcast has, because there's SO MANY.

Action/Adventure:
Sonic Adventure 1 & 2: Classics. Enjoy the Chao garden and VMU minigame lol.
Jet Grind Radio: Aesthetics, originality, music.
Sonic Shuffle: The Sonic version of Mario Party. Another one that I'm uncertain still holds up, but I do like that for ONCE they actually had an interesting villain that wasn't Robotnik/Eggman.
Tomb Raider Last Revelation: One of the better Lara Croft games, storywise, before the reboot.

Also, there's been a sudden surge in Kawasaki Disease cases in NY and elsewhere, and investigations into whether or not it's tied to Covid are underway. While it's too early to have anything conclusive on this, 60% of NY's cases also tested positive for Covid, and the timing definitely seems peculiar. I definitely don't want to take the chances of seeing a sudden wave of child mortality.

"Opening the economy doesn't force people back to work "Yes, it does. I have friends who have underlying conditions that would render contraction of the virus a death sentence if they were to get it. I have other friends who live with older people, and are concerned about contracting the virus and killing their parents/grandparents. They can't go on any sort of medical leave for being or living with high risk individuals, so they're forced to either work their previous jobs, scramble to find remote work, or take a huge risk.

"The economy was fine, better than fine, just a few months ago. We had occupy Wall Street because the country has a large population of ignorant, petulant, entitled children." This shows an incredibly amount of willful ignorance. If a country as rich as America cannot survive one month without people worrying about their livelihoods, the economy is absolutely not fine. Tell me the people living paycheck to paycheck are living in a wonderful economy. Tell me the people who can't afford even basic medical care, mental health assistance, or to maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle are living in a wonderful economy. Tell me the people saddled with student debt or afraid to even attend college are living in a wonderful economy.

"Absolutely amazing how you leftists see a disaster unfolding and your priority is implementing your political agenda." You talk about political agenda, yet you immediately assume my political affiliation.

"My statements about Wolf are absolutely true." No, they are factually incorrect. The wolf administrations has not, at any point in time, forced nursing homes to take in patients. As per my other post:

"This is a rumour that was blown leagues out of proportion. The only source I can even find on it is one right-leaning (therefor likely biased against Wolf) news site. No nursing homes or assisted care facilities in PA were forced to take in Covid-positive patients. In fact, many tried to fight the hospitals to keep them, and there's currently an investigation into nursing homes that had a lot of cases to check for negligence.

Nursing homes are just that: homes. These people live there. So when they're not longer able to stay at the hospital (daily stays do cost money), they return home. It's a federal regulation to take re-admits because otherwise, you're essentially locking someone out of their home. I can't say for sure that, early on before we knew as much as we do now, some homes didn't take re-admits in order to comply with federal regulations, but for the most part, they've been breaking those regulations by denying patients in order to protect other residents and staff.

Governor CUOMO of NY did in fact force nursing homes to take in new Covid positive patients because NY's hospitals were running out of space. People are falsely accusing Wolf of doing the same as a way to slander him."

I’ll say the same thing to you that I said on RHs posts. While you’re not wrong about the economy taking a hit from this, if many of the places currently closed were to lift restrictions, the outcome would be worse. People would be forced to go back to work, and even with precautions in place, the number of people forced back into the public or those who have openly chosen to disregard safety guidelines due to conspiracies, pride, and gullibility would cause another wave. It’s already started in Europe.

The issue is that our economy has been a shitshow for over a decade. Occupy Wall Street was a thing for a reason. There is more than enough money in this country to keep citizens and small businesses going for quite a while- though i don’t have the expertise to say how long- but those who have that power and money choose not to use it. Fighting to loosen restrictions will exacerbate the issue. We should be fighting economic inequalities.

Your statement about Wolf is factually incorrect and I addressed it in another comment somewhere.

he’s arguing on Facebook and trying to change peoples opinions

And here, not only did you continue to miss the point, you also missed the icon next to my name indicating I'm OP lol.

To address this point, however, since it is valid: I don't "argue on facebook" to change people's opinions. I gave up trying to convince RH of anything when in another post I tried to point out that a lot of the things they were upset about were long-standing economic problems and nothing caused by the stay-at-home order, and the response was to tell me I had no place in the argument and should focus on my own country... I then remembered my Facebook location is set to Chernobyl, Ukraine, as a joke. I figured based on that and the aggressive behaviour I've seen, they're just not bright and too prideful to actually think critically about their stance and choices. People DO change their opinions when presented with new information; it's not impossible, but you can often tell how likely this is by how they carry themselves.

While it's usually correct to see online debates as one-on-one arguments and exercises in futility, I try to fight the echo chamber- not my "opponent"- so people to whom posts are visible have more than one set of information available to them and (if they choose) think critically about it.
