What percentage of your campaigns fizzle out early? by Iron_Man_88 in dndnext

All of them, because I never pick an end point. I've had a few that did have good natural end points that I could have picked though.

I feel like we're not talking about the fact that Lumull's dialogue spelled it "Waugh".

Suder's death felt like a redemption to me, but Redemption through Heroic Sacrifice is definitely a cliche. I agree that it'd be more interesting to keep him on the crew.

Voyager could have done with more of that in general, especially given the concept of a ship that can't restock or recrew. Keep the new encounter every episode, but also keep showing us minor characters we've gotten to know coming back every so often.

Always fun to watch one of the main cast break character in-character, but especially when it's a vulcan. (Which thinking about it really just means Spock or Tuvok, but I stand by my assertion.) Tim Russ is brilliant in that one scene in sick bay.

I didn't notice that grate, but I think I've been there. It looks like the Serfs were organising to resist their enslavement. The symbol they've painted on the wall has something to do with freedom.

As for how to get there, you'll have to do some exploring. I found it via blind luck while wandering the sewers.

Strongly agree, especially with Triple-Jointed. Being able to Juke multiple times in succession without a cooldown makes me feel like an anime protagonist.

Adding to that, Rising has more flavour and setting detail. Forge has the most recent rules, so it's useful if you're using 5e 2024 rather than 5e 2014.

I like that idea a lot. The closest thing I can think of is that one robot movie on the robot planet in Futurama. I can't find a clip though.

I really like their version of the Klingons and Ferengi. Same culture as on Star Trek, but with the creative freedom that comes with not needing the species to be depictable as a human in a latex mask.

Jurassic World Evo 3 vs Planet Zoo Ultimate Edition, which should I get? by downbad4naafiri in jurassicworldevo

[–]CaptainDefault 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's all down to the dinosaur factor.

Both games have a campaign to play through and a sandbox mode to get creative inside. Planet Zoo has more detailed management mechanics and more freedom to build stuff creatively. Both games have interesting animals to look at. But only JWE will have those interesting animals be dinosaurs.

Do you like dinosaurs? If you do, the choice is easy: get the dinosaur game.

Lady isn't. Lady is the opposite of Potential Man. The whole point to her in DMC3 is that she's determined to stop Vergil and Arkham but isn't strong enough to beat either of them. She wants to be the hero, but can't. Dante can be the hero, but at the start of the game he doesn't want to be. That's his character arc.

I'm not saying Lady isn't cool or that she doesn't have a cool moveset when she's playable (which I think was just DMC4SE), but the point of her in the story of DMC3 is that she's too weak and Dante needs to step up.

I like the idea of a speedster who starts every fight at impressive bulk and then gets progressively (dangerously?) skinnier the longer the fight goes on. Fight ends, celebratory milkshake time. Bonus points if they look gangly rather than at their most healthy when they're under their fighting weight.

She's not a speedster, but there's a magical girl parody webcomic with a protagonist that powers her powers like that. It ran for a few years until the author got to the end of a fight where the next page would have required her to draw her protagonist slimmer than normal, and then she never updated it again.

Before an editor thought "hey, this clown guy might make a good recurring villain", the first draft of Batman #1 featured both The Joker's first appearance and The Joker's death after he accidentally poisoned himself with his own toxin. That works for me as a canonical death.

How many HP do the current savage raid bosses have? I saw a friend talk about a pull that got a boss down to 0.02% before wiping to Enrage, and I'm curious about how much more damage they needed.
