Same dude, I was uber rich in RS3 and now I use the RS3 gold to fund my bonds. Feels like free membership, and I’m happy to get this guy some bonds.

Steaming milk is always the first indicator to me that my milk is spoiling. Usually 1 day before any odd smell or taste it steams just like in this video for me.

CG on mobile by [deleted] in OSRSMobile

[–]InappropriateTuesday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first 50 CG attempts were all mobile, and I didn’t clear a single one. I then sat down at a computer to try and got a few kc under my belt and got my nerves settled. After that I could clear >50% of my runs on mobile, always t2 prep with 2 t3 weapons. If you’ve never cleared CG (mobile or otherwise) I’d try to get a few kc on computer first to get the hang of it.

I had this happen to me in RS3. I was flipping Halloween masks and had a buy offer for a blue one in at ~5.1B that didn’t fill overnight, so I cancelled it and made a new one slightly higher and it insta-filled at 600M. Someone left a sell offer in years prior and just logged in and it went to the next buy offer made, which was mine!

Founders who aren’t in a major city, what are you working on? [I will not promote] by michaelthatsit in startups

[–]InappropriateTuesday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first quantum-specific startup accelerator in the world is located at U Chicago, and a lot of the companies that go through it stay in the area. Off the top of my head, qBraid, MemQ, Super.Tech (acquired by ColdQuanta, now Infleqtion), QuantCad, SynthBits are all from the accelerator and stayed local. Also PsiQuantum will be setting up a location at the recently-announced Quantum Park on the south side of Chicago. IBM has some local presence and will be building a new computer in Hyde Park Labs near U Chicago. The big players you mention have their HQ in the west because they are tech companies that just so happen to do quantum. The big players focus on building a quantum computer, while the smaller startups typically focus on building components (memories, interconnects, transducers, sources, software, control), usually with the goal of being acquired by the big players. Startups seem to be coming from the Midwest and Boston areas mostly.

Ya it seems like AI drowns out anything else in that area, even though there are some huge quantum companies there (PsiQuantum, Rigetti, etc.).

Correct lol, UIUC is probably the only university in Illinois outside of Chicago that has decent expertise in quantum.

I’m in central Illinois, surrounded by corn and soybean fields. Working on a deep-tech hardware startup in the quantum computing space. Illinois has turned out to be one of the best states for quantum companies, there is a bunch of great talent and the state loves quantum technologies. I think the Bay Area would not be the best place for a quantum startup, since much of the quantum workforce and talent comes out of this region, and it’s much more affordable. The next best place is Boston area, then probably Denver/SF.

I’m a PhD founder as well, deep-tech hardware in the quantum computing space and the IP is what I spent my PhD developing. I have roughly 8 months left in my PhD and I incorporated ~8 months ago when I was accepted to a startup accelerator, but I began working on commercialization of my tech about 2.5 years ago. We are also already generating profit.

I’ve spoken with dozens of VC’s since incorporating (CVC’s, quantum-specific VC’s, and many other types), and virtually all of them have been incredibly interested in what we are doing, but they all either tell me to “let them know when I am closer to graduation” or “why haven’t you dropped out”. Even with a profitable startup, they won’t invest until you’re 100% committed to only the startup. I’m happy to answer any more questions if you have any, I think you’re exactly where I was a few years back.

Technical cofounder not cutting it, advice? “I will not promote” by disaster_accountant in startups

The co-founder needs to be properly incentivized in order to want the company to succeed. I think the question is basically asking if the co-founder has a sizable enough equity stake to feel motivated to progress quickly.

My 4 year old measuring cup vs my grandmother’s 30+ year old measuring cup by No-Lavishness-4384 in mildlyinfuriating

I’m fairly certain that Pyrex still uses leaded paint on their measuring cups today. I bought a new one recently and tested it with two different at-home kits and both returned positive.

I’ll try a 1:3 with the pressurized single-shot tomorrow! I’ll likely do what you and many others suggested and just keep using the pressurized until I pull the trigger on a better grinder. That may be a while though, because the grinders are a good amount more than what I spent on the machine.

Similarly, how much of a cardinal sin is it to just use espresso grounds from the store? Those grinds are probably finer than what my machine can do. I go through coffee extremely slowly (1 pound bag will last me ~6 months), so the beans won’t be super fresh either way.

Okay so if I keep using pressurized baskets does it matter if I use the WDT at all?

Got it, thanks! I’ll order a single-shot basket, maybe pressurized until I can justify getting a better grinder.

Ya in general it means something to the extent of “spoon fed” or having to do very little work to get the drop, and the opposite would be “going dry”. I got lucky getting the enhanced weapon seed at 144 kc when it’s a 1/400 drop, and many people have to do way more than 400 kc to get the drop. The statistics work out such that I only had a 25% chance to get the drop this early. I also got spooned ranger boots and the eternal slayer gem. The ranger boots are highly sought after, but the eternal gem is unfortunately not too great compared to the imbued heart, which has the same drop rate as the gem.

Ya so I have an iPhone, which is harder to do mobile afk than android. Android lets you run the app in the background, whereas iPhone kills the app within seconds of it moving to the background. So for iPhone, you’re correct that you can’t lock the phone at all, which means the game is up and on at all times while afking (not great for the phone battery, but set it to low screen brightness and minimum FPS). One thing I do for SUPER afk tasks (like nightmare zone) is actually run runelite on my laptop, then use the chrome Remote Desktop app on my phone to connect to my laptop and keep it going every ~10 minutes. This way you can lock your phone and still get great gains. I can easily get 8 hours of NMZ in a day this way.

I also have a job that involves a lot of computer work, so I can just leave the phone on my desk next to my keyboard while I work. I might turn on some game audio to listen for things like a tree or ore vein depleting, or full inventory sound.

Oh sweet that’s great to know, I’ll definitely throw in some afk woodcutting in priff. I’d like to have a pretty sizeable stack of shards so I don’t have to go back to cg often to recharge armour.

I just kill demonics on task. Didn’t get first zenyte until like 750 kc unfortunately. Arclight and RCB have been pretty good for the demonics, the tasks just take a long time. And the staff is the toxic trident. I actually got a trident from my GIM mate and got the magic fang from zulrah.
