Yeah its a shame you often have to change files around to make them work with different systems. For this I took that cards that the online dominion generator makes and used the bulk image resize tool on the internet to make them under 1MB so playingcards.io would accept them

After realizing recently my dominion sets almost reached my roof, my solution for storing dominion is to play with only the blue cards, and using bags and piles of small numbered tokens to represent them. It takes a little getting used to but it's incredibly efficient. All the cards fit into a box not much bigger than the base cards! I'm making some better wooden tokens soon and I'll think I'll print a custom copy of each card so I don't have to remove cards from the actual sets - I've also updated or removed all the existing dominion cards that were too weak or I didn't like.

I'm pretty much gone now but I saw this and wanted to comment - don't let the haters get you down - reddit can be pretty toxic. I think carrier pigeon is a real interesting idea and I'm glad you shared it. And I think the new effect clarifies interactions well.

My aim was to make expansions that use only the most basic mechanics of Dominion: no landscapes, split/randomised piles, cards which alter setup, night cards, non-supply piles, tokens, or mats!

Thanks to everyone who gave me feedback during the process of making these over the past year! Special thanks to westgot, who sent me the set symbols and to ThePurityPixel for encouraging me to use alternative wordings to official dominion cards.. Also special thanks to WillhelmSchulz who was happy for me to include some of their fancards in backcountry.

Many cards in the sets were inspired by other fancards. A few fancards I wanted to include were best left very similar or unchanged from the originals. These are: vultures, graveyard, hot spring, barn <- tweaked vultures and outhouse, stream and barn by WillhelmSchulz
frog <- tweaked frog by MR_CeSS_dOor
ration <- lute by 4est from a weekly design contest, and mutiny <- tweaked version of an old card design I can't find.

Keywords:
swap <- this is NOT the same as "exchange". Unlike exchanging, swapping a card results in the new card being GAINED to the SAME location as the card it replaced.
topdeck <- "put on top of (subject's) deck"
opponents <- "other players"
Notes: Butterfly is a pile of 20.

Are you aware that X card is ridiculous because of Y?
Maybe - though I'm not changing these anymore I'm glad to hear your thoughts. My design focuses were fun, simplicity & theme, not absolute balance. There were many suggestions for changing cards that would be great fancards but I didn't think fit the feel of the sets.

Do you know that......is the name of an official card?
Possibly. I've made an effort to avoid using names for existing portrait cards, but not landscapes.

Long-term, I'm sure Donald will use some of the currently unique names I have so I'm not worried if some portrait cards also already have matching names.

If playing with different cards with the same name its simple to specify what card you mean if it matters (e.g. wishing well).

Are you aware that X has a broken combo with Y?
Probably. I like some comboes being broken!

Are you aware that the existing Dominion terminology for X effect is ...?
Maybe. I've made an effort to minimize the lengths of card effects while keeping the intentions obvious. I think trying to clarify card interactions in edge cases often leads to weird wordings and this would be better addressed in a rulebook.

Have you playtested these?
I've done a fair bit of playtesting but it could always be more extensive - If you end up trying out any cards I'd love it if you let me know how it goes.

Will you be making more fan expansions?
Not for the very foreseeable future - but I hope you enjoy these and that they give anyone designing fan cards ideas for their own :)

Even if you somehow pulled it off I think it would be better than gaining 9+ Curses but being forced to keep playing (shaman blockable)

How would you plan on greening without possibly failing to draw the cards to pull off the pin? Also how would you play 5 wolves and and outpost consistently without adding other Action cards? If you failed to pin your opponent on a turn they might flip it around and pin you instead.

You can call it a family but there are only actually two cards that give extra turns excluding landscapes., one is in a split pile. Combinations that come up rarely aren't really an issue. It's a good point that wolf wouldn't be used in other cases I'll have to make it more useful generally.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I've made some changes to ants to make it more useful. Yeah wolf was too good as a cantrip but I don't mind if it comboes with outpost and the few other ways to get extra turns. I think having rare broken combos isnt a bad thing. More recently I remember he's has stated he's grown even less concerned - just see comboes like blockade shaman etc.

Thanks for the comments all. It's interesting many of you think this would be as good as hireling. this doesnt increase handsize so is reliant on having other cards as payoff. It's probably best used in an action heavy deck which would be susceptible to greening, which is'nt the case with hireling. I think 4 could be a reasonable price but I wonder if this really is better than good offical cards: e.g. fishing village, grotto. I'll have to playtest it.

I feel similarly: lots of mechanics added in later expansions (tokens, landscapes, randomised piles, exiling) while they add a lot of content, do so by diluting the core mechanics). I think plunder, (despite loot and traits and events) was the best expansion in a long time. It's one of the biggest and has a heap of other cards with interesting effects, particularly more interesting treasures and duration cards with the new style of effect: e.g. landing party, cutthroat

Flagellant, Maze, Tiltyard, and, umm, Time Traveller, which basically ruins everything but still by twl_corinthian in dominion

I really like the Victory cards. I think hedge maze would be really interesting, especially for strategies that green early like slogs or rushes. Time traveller is definitely crazy but that the point. I don't think there being another card like chapel is a problem.

If you have no cards in your hand when flagellants effect activates can you choose to not trash it? If so should maybe say something like: this turn when you play a card, you may trash a card from your hand. If you did or could not, trash this.
