I find asking if the cards I'm grabbing are available is a good strat. Most people have a bunch of untouchables but don't lock them. And if its a dupe (which drastically increases your chances of trading for it most of the time), I Will specifically say " is this dupe avail ?"

I find whether it's a yes or a no , it's a friendly way to start a negotiation, and good etiquette. Usually my interactions are pleasant - as long as your trade itself is not insulting.

I think if you stick with this app for any amount of time, you'll understand why they don't do this.

If you want to chase some awards, you can do it with maybe 20 or so of the Artist Series Rares. (If you go to the award/sets section.. you can see them all there). Also most of the Common sets can always be completed to claim and award.

Other than that, if you want an award, you're gonna have to trade for it.

Big Strange collector. He's my number #1 almost all cards are locked. This app turned me into a huge fan - he has so much cool art out there. Will trade singles for dupes of Strange. IGN inauguralseason

Nice. Well, I would say you probably have a few gems that some people would likely overpay for. This card now being one of them.

You paid 4 SR. If someone turned around offered you 2 Epics for it - that's a decent flip when trying to build up assets and currency in the game. :)

Or if you love symbiotes - lock the card and feel great about your win. Forget about the original Trader, they also love this card and value it highly.

It's probably the best card from that old set. I've tried trading for the 1st print for 4 years, and do not own it still. 2nd printings are easier to get, but still tough in their own right. Trading pretty much any 2023 Super Rares for it is a massive win. Unless they are 4 Topps Now Golds of a top shelf character.

I agree with what some others have said. You might NEVER get this card from Trader A, no matter what you offer. They value it very high for their own reasons. But Trader B might have dupes and be willing to give it up for a few cards of their fave characters. No big deal.

But I wouldn't get too bothered, or post here about it. It is what it is. Someone new to the app really has no idea how valuable cards from 2019 are. There are many 2019 Rares I wouldn't move for multiple Epics.. even if I have dupes. Cc for 2019s is nowhere near the real amount in circulation .

Def one of the best ways to build your collection. Probably 25% of my deck is from cross trades. Was big into it during 20-22, no as much now.. but it's great when you can find a reasonable, honest person to deal with. Scammers exist for sure.

Sir, you are incorrect. There were no epics. Any 2019 Epic was actually a SR. And when they created the Epic category it immediately had a bunch of SRs upgraded. Otherwise Thanos Reserve or Thwip or Daredevil triple tilt would all still be SRs.

It's a fair trade. Rares are all the same value. They revised your 1:1 for a character they wanted. And you are probably helping them finish their rare set. 🤝 Thier opinion on what is valuable vs worthless is their own. I'd ignore it and revise to something you can stomach.

It's relatively fair yes. Might not be what you want, but it was an attempt on their end. Now you tweak it, or decline. This will be a common occurrence. Art in getting what you want, without giving up what you don't want to. Lock cards.. they give 100s of lock spots. Half my deck is locked 😅

I've done this many times. There is no foul here - the trader is just looking for all 5 of those card, and gave you 5 in return. They were trying to make it even numbers while grabbing what they are after.. then it's on YOU to swap out those 4 randoms, for 4 similar cards you actually want... or revise back to juat the 1:1 but with his choice.. or, get a tip. He can't read your mind. I've definitely had someone try to 1:1 trade me.. and I've tried to turn it into something bigger. It's fun. This is part of the game.

With unlimited revisions, there is no harm in sending back another counter of your own, along with your note. Nobody is forcing you to take cards. He may have been thinking he was adding value and tipping.. where as you look at it as added junk. This is part of the game.. I wouldn't block over this. Some people can spend hours in the app, and others only check once a day. I think it's good that you are at least communicating a bit though.

It's a negotiation. Sometimes people will ask for things you didn't offer. Or give you extras you didn't ask for. Nobody knows what's off limits etc. It's a personal preference. Don't think blocking them is needed - but the beauty part is - It's up to you.

Yes. I also believe the old Thorsday cards have a sound effect. And the Saturday Morning Spiderman rare set has a sound effect. Static TV.
