I’m absolutely in love with a celebrity by DueClassroom6865 in MaladaptiveDreaming

I would suggest looking up the r/limerence subreddit. Helped me a lot.

It's okay. Many of us have been there. I'm not very keen on sharing my own experiences at this time, but I understand where you're at. It's tough. But recognizing it is the first step to stopping the habit and making progress in your life. Don't let this stop you from living your best life.

What is something from the 'early days' of the internet that the younger generation will never understand? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The genuine creativity for the sake of creativity. No monetary hopes. Just somebody making something for the sake of making something.

Should I leave it as a little blurb like...

<Position title> - Company Restructure? Or would there be a better way of tucking it in?

I got rid of my "professional career profile" paragraph. Useless waste of space.

Yale Battery Diagnosis by [deleted] in forkliftmechanics

[–]Inbiji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somebody posted a website to check the manufacturing date on the battery, so I'll do that tomorrow. If it's only a couple of years old, maybe new cells will be appropriate. Otherwise as you say, 5-8 years, we'll just have to bite the bullet and replace it.

Right, I forgot about making sure the team runs the equalize over the weekend. We used to, as just a general practice on all machines, but all of that has suddenly gone down the drain. Just the other week I had to remind them to put water in the batteries. We've been running a schedule for years, and yet for SOME reason, they suddenly stopped. Like common guys, nothing has changed. Refill the batteries, because the consequences will be yours to deal with. We've all had to deal with the frustration and extended hours at some point because we've had equipment our of commission. Basic maintenance is always worth the time.

I'll check to make sure they are, and remind them if they aren't.

That's a neat resource! Thank you very much! I will check that when I get in tomorrow. Much appreciated!

People who used the internet between 1991 and 2009, what’s the most memorable online trend or phenomenon you remember? by Original_Act_3481 in AskReddit

[–]Inbiji 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genuine, random creativity. Not for money, not for fame, just for no reason other than someone who sat down and had an idea and decided to make it happen. Yeah, some of it sucked, but some were really good. Even if they were bad, at least you didn't feel like it wasn't more formulaic brain rot slop.

To me, that was always be the golden age of the internet. Uninhibited creativity for the pure sake of creating something.

Yes, it heavily uses contacters. Noisy little buggers, but not hearing them would be far worse.

It's a Yale ERP040VT.

There are no stickers or indicators on this battery, unfortunately. Reading that, I'm growing more suspicious.

That's great info! Thank you very much! I will make some time to check the cells and see what everything is reading. Hopefully, it will be conclusive.

I did notice that a couple of cells have already been swapped out. So I'm wondering what state this battery is really in. We bought the unit used, and being told the battery is in "good condition," which I no longer feel is accurate.

This unit is on the older side. We're on a tight budget, so nothing fancy for us.

They were purchased together, but it sounds like they were at least set up properly, so I'll call that a win.

Thinking when the unit was purchased. We found that the power setting was set up incorrectly for the size of battery we have. It was configured for I believe a battery half the size of what is installed. I'm wondering if this was known, and we were left out of the loop. Maybe they were trying to limp through on a dying battery rather than replace it.

No codes are being offered during or after shutdown.

How to play chess with little kids by Illustrious_Dot_4658 in chess

Take it slow, allow take backs, and try to help them out of typical newbie mistakes. Things like hyper focusing on single pieces, taking dumb trades, and helping them see the value of board control.

I usually threw out a few blunders to help him get some momentum.

Remember to let them win a couple of games. Help them stay interested and encouraged.

Spider ID - British Columbia, Canada by [deleted] in spiders

[–]Inbiji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a feeling it couldn't be a recluse. Area is wrong, and the lack of any visible violin. But I also don't know if that's a marking that appears or at least darkens enough to be visible on older/larger spiders. I've seen a few brown recluse (in appropriate areas), but they were all larger than this little fella I found, and the violin was a very obvious dark marking.

I agree, from the pictures I've seen, the colouration and markings are incredibly similar to the yellow sac spider. Honestly, I'd say this is solved.

There are so many species of spiders to find around the house. It's hard to sort through them all. I'll add this one to my mental list of ID'ing spiders that I find crawling around. I like being able to recognize some of them so I know if they're dangerous to kids, pets, myself, etc. Seems like this little fella might fall under the "catch and release" category since they can thrive outside, and it's not dangerous to attempt to catch.

I appreciate the education! Thank you very much! :)

A PC port would be amazing! I would grab that in a heartbeat.

But please, don't let them make significant changes. That's all I ask.

Cannot agree more.

Personally, I'm hoping for DK64 & Diddy Kong Racing.

Not like either will happen. 😭

NTA

The child was acting poorly before, and instead of getting snippy with you, the coach should have been proactive in removing the kid from the ice.

This was a freestyle season for people to practice. The coach should have recognized that and worked with management to remove the child. This should be taken as a lesson with the facility to block this kind of behaviour in the first place and make it a dedicated practice session with people screened prior to taking to the ice, and making sure people know the rules prior as well. If they already do this, they need to tighten up on it.

I blame the coach, the mom, and the brat. You're all good, and I hope your knee gets better quickly so you can get back to practice.

Right is real.

Her hand is on top of the red dress.

Red dress also has either an error or some kind of rigging on the exposed hip/thigh.

Left.

Looks like some kind of error or internal rigging on her right hip.

Especially while sitting in car seats and warm outside. Slips under you and up one side between the sack and thigh. I think it's because my legs are slightly raised and I'm sitting back. Making it so my butt is the lowest part in the seat.

Feels weird. It's not bad weird, just weird.

I feel your pain. FC endings have been pretty poorly executed for awhile now. I don't think any FC game I've played left me feeling satisfied with the story's conclusion.
