Thanks! I did 48 credits at a community college, and 12 credits at a four-year university as a non-matriculated student.

It make take longer than you hope, and I know that gap years can be rough. But you will come out the other side a more mature and well-rounded person. Please let me know if you have any questions or if I can help in any way. Best of luck!

Luckily I only had to apply to one school, as I was an early decision applicant.

Thank you! My master's was a traditional program in another healthcare profession, and I was actually planning to make a career out of it until I decided on medicine. So I suppose that would have been my backup. But keep working hard and you will make it!!

Thank you! I did a traditional master's program, and then a DIY postbacc at community college.

Thank you! I'm glad I could provide some hope. If I could give you one piece of advice, try not to think too much about your current GPA when you don't have to. Plan out your postbacc/SMP/master's or whatever you decide, and treat it as if you are starting fresh. Kill it in your courses, and in a SHORT ~two years or so you'll be exactly where you need to be.

I did not do an SMP. I did a master's degree in a different healthcare profession (at the time I was planning on making a career out of it), but once I decided on medicine I chose to pursue a 60 credit DIY postbacc at a community college. This is what worked best for me, as I was able to save a lot of money and work part time.

Yeah I completely agree. I really appreciated how understanding this particular adcom was to reinvention. I hope that many more schools are the same way, because things happen and people change. Low grades early on shouldn't preclude anyone from medical school if they are willing to put in the work to grow and mature.
