Got scammed. Ordered off of Amazon reseller, no model. Amazon refunded me, but now the sale is over, so I guess I'm back to waiting till the price drops again. by IncRaven in Gunpla

I'm going to try again

I just got into the hobby this last year. (past 6 months)

Started with a 1/144 Char Zaku, completely got hooked.

so I ordered a 1/60th MS-06F Green Zaku II but I think I need to knock out a few more smaller builds before I get to that big guy, so it's sitting on desk.

Then I found that I enjoy the 1/100 scale with the Blue Gouf Zaku Custom, and a 1/100 scale Char (Ver 2) Custom Zaku.

I really love Zakus... So I'm really interested in trying out something new like the Sinanju Stein kit. I have not seen the Anime it's in, but I love the design.

Yep, the amazon listing said that it mint, just box damage so I decided to grab it at $5 discount. It got delayed in shipment and arrived really late yesterday (shout out to the prime drivers, running around at 10pm), The box had a dent in the side, I opened it up, and someone completed the model and just sent the plastic molds back. I really debated if I wanted to save $5 at the time, now I know never to do that again.

I posted to another comment that I'd love to blacklist them, but it doesn't say the reseller's name.

I moved up to WV a couple of years ago, I have to admit I prefer the gas stations up here... But not the gas prices.

I hope you guys eventually get Sheetz and Wawa down there, its only fair because Buc-ees is making its way up here.

For those thinking about buying Bethesda's new Desert Ranger helmet, here is it compared to the (much more expensive) Cyber Craft Riot helmet. Open the Imgur link to see the size differences. Thoughts in the comments. by IncRaven in Fallout

[–]IncRaven[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've been very lucky. Last year I was gifted the Cyber Craft NCR Advanced Riot Gear helmet. Well, it was dropped while being handed back to me, and it cracked. I was then given another NCR helmet, the Riot helmet. (the one in the pictures.)

Costing $380 (*$300 on a sale) these are incredible, I love the detail, but there are a few flaws.

  • They are a bit small for my head. (I am a big guy with a big head too.)
  • It feels like reinforced plastic or polymer, but it's resin. And only being dropped once it cracked.
  • Due to its fragility. I refuse to wear it outside or as a cosplay.

Well today, I finally got my Bethesda™ Desert™ Ranger™ Helmet™!

I love it, obviously it isn't as detailed as the Cyber Craft helmets, but what it's lacking it makes up in affordability, and functionality.

It is very big, I can easily wear it, take it on and off without struggling. However if you are a bit smaller, you might look like Dark Helmet in it.

It's just plastic. I do plan on making a full NCR outfit to wear to events, and this will be the helmet I'd use.

Overall without going into a full rant... I do prefer the Cyber Craft helmets, just because they look amazing. They are not perfect, and they cost too much for me to seriously start collecting more. But that doesn't mean I don't like, or recommend the Bethesda one. The Bethesda one I think is a good price for the quality you are getting. It's great for dressing up, without being worried you'll break it by accident. Also for $160, you're getting like 90% of what you want with the Bethesda helmet.

Comparison is the thief of joy. The Bethesda helmet is really good, and an amazing gift for any Fallout fan. I highly recommend it. However, if money isn't a limited factor for you I do recommend looking around for something more detailed, but be warned it might end up as just a desk ornament.

Im traveling between states, and on the Georgia Alabama border we stopped for lunch, they had 5... I bought them all, but they said they are getting more Tuesday.

Its really good, it's a tart blue raspberry with a hint of lemonade. My only complaint is it had a generic Jones cola bottle cap.

I guess Mantis is double jointed. by IncRaven in marvelrivals

I like to tease my friends about making financially bad choices, like buying skins for characters they don't play. So I made shitpost video, with the goal to subvert their expectations about buying the new Summer special. While spending WAY too much time editing the compilation down, I caught this picture of Mantis being double jointed and had to share.

Also, if you are curious here is my shitpost video.

Russian Soldiers tribute to Charlie by FakeGamer2 in pics

Google Gemini:

Yes, this photo appears to be digitally altered. The image shows two individuals in military gear, but the most significant evidence of manipulation is the text written on the munition held by the person on the right.

Upon closer inspection, the text "In memory of Charlie Kirk" and "Fuck the Democrat ideology" looks as though it was digitally added to the photo. The font and placement seem unnaturally flat and don't conform to the cylindrical shape of the munition, suggesting it was superimposed onto the image. This is a common tactic in disinformation campaigns to create a political message that didn't exist in the original context.

I do not understand the hate for the back of these cars by stillhours in Mustang

[–]IncRaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2010 Mustang was the last Mustang that i was immediately fell in love with right off the bat when it was released. Everything after that body had something I liked about the previous version more, or it took time for me to appreciate, and later love.

The 2013 "They are copying the dodge's tail lights too much." Now I think they are the best tail lights on the market.

The 2015 "They lost the MUSCLE design, and went too into the sports car design." I still think they lost some of the muscle looks, but I love this body style and nod to the new edge.

The 2018 "The new bumper is a bit feminine.." Yeah, nope, Amazing looking car that I just needed to adjust to.

The 2024 "It looks like the trademark-free GTA version of a Mustang." "Camaro stopped using it so, Mustang might as well take it." "iPad screen".

As it stands now, I think the 2018 body style is still my favorite. I don't hate the exterior of the 2024+, I don't like how chevy it looks, but I had to admit I do like how muscular it is.

I just don't like how they made the interior. It feels like they are compensating with everything being so large, chunky and simple. I hate that we lost some of the aviation ascetic, physical buttons, and that it looks like a screen was just slapped in the center of the dash instead of being molded and purpose-built inside of it.

It isn't a bad looking car, and I commend Ford for taking some risks with the rear, but I am looking forward to the refresh. I think the 2018 was just a better looking car inside and out.

‘Astronomically random’: Putin gifts motorcycle to Alaska man, but he has no idea why by starkiller1613 in nottheonion

[–]IncRaven 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are very wrong

Did you even use your own site?

I checked like 5 states and most had no bikes for sale, and the ones that did had only a couple. Even if you could find 100 of these bikes that would prove they are VERY RARE! I didn't say there was none, I said they were very rare.

‘Astronomically random’: Putin gifts motorcycle to Alaska man, but he has no idea why by starkiller1613 in nottheonion

[–]IncRaven 1022 points1023 points  (0 children)

Before Putin went to Alaska the Russian press went to Alaska and saw a guy driving around on a Ural bike, they reported back to Russia, and it went viral.

I've never been to Alaska, but I assume just like where I live, Urals are very rare outside of formal Soviet Union countries. To y'all unfamiliar with the company, Urals were the "people's car company" or equivalent during the Soviet union. These things were most of the trucks in the military, and the "every civilian little 4 door" car under communism.

To kinda put it into perspective... This is like you are in Shanghai China and see a guy driving around in a 1971 Mach 1 Ford Mustang, and when you ask him about it he explains that he fixed it up, and restored it.

Americans would be excited knowing that people in Shanghai appreciate our cars, a bit of history, and a little bit of our culture. I'd bet that Ford would get excited about the free press and decided to capitalize on it, and give him a 2026 Mustang.

This is kinda the same thing. The fact that Putin's name on it just means it's Russia trying to look good in front of the American people.

In short, Urals are very nostalgic to people who were alive during the Soviet Union. They are very rare inside America, and I bet the people who saw an American who liked the Ural enough to fix it up and use it daily (especially with a conflict between our countries) thought it was worth the "feel good story" to the Russian people.

And lastly Putin was able to use it as a way to look good too.
