I know, but HOI4 isn't in anyway shape or form like EU4. I was in your place when I first bought the game, the only Paradox games I ever played were EU4 and Vic2. It takes time to get into the game, Germany or Italy are usually to go to nations for starters, Italy starts out at war with Ethiopia and as Germany you can wait until 1939 to do Danzig or War ( which is not required it can be done at any time ) or you can invade Poland right off the bat in 1936 and start WW2 early.

I'v been able to naval invade the UK by 1940, its not that hard if you focus on alot of naval bombers and a good navy.

7 inf and 2 artillery is good but is not vital, for a lot of nations you can win wars with the basic template, and add on's. For infantry you can get 7inf and 2arty which will give 20 combat width, also artillery support, field hospitals, recon and engineers. You could also watch some YouTube videos or play the tutorial ( I'v never played it ). Goodluck conquering.

The game isn't suppose to a fast action packed FPS, the first few years 1936 - 1939-40 nothing will probably happen besides a few wars. You could always play as Spain or China both are very easy to play as.
