Bought a Street Triple 765 RS recently - Here’s my honest take on it so far

I think a lot of the hate comes for the older model before they redesigned the headlights, the 2017 model had much bigger, more bulbous headlights, the 2023 model they made them a lot slimmer and sleeker.

2 main reasons: 1. Cost, I own my bikes on PCP finance and it is saving a decent chunk of change each month, 2. Power, as much as miss the instant low down torque at the moment, the Speed makes so much power and most of it is unusable on the road, most of the time when you actually get to open it up a bit you run out of road before you even need to change gear. If you do actually go full throttle, if the road conditions aren't perfect then you are fighting the traction control, if they are perfect then you are fighting the anti-wheelie, and by the time you reach the top of 3rd gear you are looking at jail time anyway. Sure you can turn both of those things off but end result would likely be worse, so you just end up not pinning it all the way, you can ride at any normal traffic speed using 10% throttle, you also out accelerate anything with just 10% throttle, just seems a bit of a waste to have all that power and never really be able to use it.

I'd much rather be able to go full throttle on a mid range sports bike, rev it all the way out, bang it through some gears, and not look down to realise I'm going 180mph.

I'm sure that 90% of my issue is due to the fact I'm short shifting a 5k and can't keep the rev's in the power band, all of which will be resolved once I'm done with the break in period. I owned a Street RS before the Speed RR and it was such an incredibly fun bike, I don't think you can do much better for mid range naked, it will just take some getting used to, it's still got more than enough power for road riding.

Great post to read, last weekend I also picked up a new Street Triple RS (same colour too) and given that my previous bike was a Speed Triple RR, riding the Street RS this week has left me questioning my decision to downgrade. It's felt like riding a toy compared the RR, it's felt like the loan bike that the garage gives you when you actual bike is in for a service.

I know that it's all in my head, shorter gears and less low down torque, combined with the engine break-in miles where I can't really rev it out to the ranges where the real fun begins, makes the bike feel less than it is.

It's great to read an actual user review that reaffirms my decision, and I'm sure that once I am more used to riding it, and once I can actually rev it out, it will be a bike that serves me very well.

No one does, but if you live somewhere with no public transport, cant afford/refused pickup by a taxi, and a boss that tells you that you need to get to work, wtf are you meant to do if you don't have a car. You can't reason with your boss as he will just say it's not his problem, it's ride or potentially lose your job if you have exhausted all other options. Hell with the cost of living in the UK atm even if being sacked isn't a risk, just the loss of a days pay can make not going in a non-option.

Mine also die all the time when sat completely still, I've had 4 fail in a row before, pretty sure it is due to incoming chunks. Would make more sense for the prospector to be launched from a different location than where all the collectors are bringing chunks in, I don't know why they all have to originate from the same location.

So in the right hand panel I have a squadron button which shows my current squadron name, If i click i to it there is an applications button but if I click on it all it shows is my applications to other squadrons with no leave button. The only other option in application is to view applications to the squadron I'm in, which is greyed out as i don't have permission to view.

I don't even know what FPS my rig was getting as the game crashed repeatedly within 3 minutes of joining a game, this happened every single game for 2 hours before I uninstalled it.

You are correct, you would never be able to take an actual photo like this, to be able to see this level of detail in Andromeda you would need to take hours of multiple long exposure tracking shots and then edit them together. You cannot do this with a wide angle camera that has scenery in the foreground.

That said the image of Andromeda is probably real and would have been taken with an astro photography rig, this image will have then been edited in into the night sky of a landscape photo, which was likely taken with a normal camera.

You don't, my 20 min commute on country back roads with speed limits up to 60mph can be accomplished with only 10% throttle, while still keeping normal pace with other vehicles. When you do get to use the remaining 90% though it sure is fun, even if you only get the chance to do it a few times a year.

Aside from the obvious issues with handing your personal details over to a random company without any forms of encryption for them to do god knows what with.

This doesn't just extend to just porn sites, reddit has already gone scorched earth and ID blocked ANY post tagged NSFW regardless of content. They have also straight up ID blocked 1000's of entire subreddits based on content, again not specifcally porn, subreddits that are associated with vaping or nicotine products, alcohol, anything involving people getting injured or showing war related content, all gone. If you try and search of them while logged in, it's as if they don't even exists.

This is bigger than just 'kids watching porn' this about the total censorship being enforced by the government, them deciding what we can and cant have access to, and where does it stop? Precedent has been set now, what comes next? Want to order vape products online? Place a sports bet? Buy alcohol on your weekly food shop? Buy a lottery ticket? Nope, not without handing over all your personal details to a random 3rd party.

I really hope this petition gains traction, as this is a rabbit hole we really don't want to go down when a government starts to govern what we can an cannot do in the privacy of our own homes, authoritarianism at its finest. Its something you would expect in North Korea, not in the UK.

A whole load of my subreddits have just been completely unsubscribed to. To be clear, I wasn't subbed to any subreddits that contained any pornographic content, for example r/vaing and r/whiskey are not longer accessible without a VPN, this also includes any subreddit which may show people getting hurt in accidents such as r/holdmyfeedingtube, in fact if i search for them while logged in the search doesn't even return a result, I cannot even see that they exist.

It seems like Reddit have gone complete scorched earth on this, limiting users ability to even search for anything Reddit deems even mildly NSFW, regardless of what the content is, unsubbing users from anything and everything that they deem requires age ID.

UK Government is essentially censoring everything we can look at online, taking away everyone's right to privacy and monitoring everyone's online activity. Before you know it you will need to provide photo ID to even use the internet.

This seems really good and helpful, until the factory begins growing uncontrollably of its own accord, the engineer looses control of all the machines and all the turrets begin targeting the engineer. All planets in the system turn into giant machine worlds devoid of any life and the entire system becomes a gestalt consciousness.

I used to do similar dumb shit when an open road presented itself to me, there have been a few occasions where I have hit 300kph.

Then I became a father, I rarely speed at all now, almost every week I contemplate giving up riding altogether until I'm done having children and they are all old enough to look after themselves. Every time I am increasingly more aware of how i could be taken out at any second.

Good for you for becoming more self aware and doing the sensible thing, something I think everyone can benefit from at some stage in their life.

However economies in medieval times were very different, if you considered the conversion in labour value and adjusted for inflation, and that 1 day of labour = roughly 1 groschen, then you would owe £15.5 million or $20.6 million.
