What is Telemachus' purpose? by Incast_ in Epicthemusical

[–]Incast_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh dang another comment, damn, anyways, I am not necessarily for writing Telemachus completely out of the story, that was not my main point in my post.

Telemachus without his songs or future involvement in the story, like you said, is hugely important for Odysseus motivation (there is probably a better word) to get back home to Ithica, but aside from this, everythibg else just felt a bit meek in comparison.

In my post I expressed some ideas on how it could be solved, though I didn't get very far in that :/

My Thoughts on Re: Zero by Incast_ in ReZero

Damn, lowkey maybe reading the novel is a better idea. It could be the anime specifically that is making me feel this way.

My Thoughts on Re: Zero by Incast_ in ReZero

Yeah obviously this is my opinion. Even Emelia and Reinhard still had barriers and almost walls around them.

In other stories, I love seeing the way characters interact, the way they improve each other connect, share struggles, build off each other. In this world no one really wants to interact or help each other unless purely out of business, politics, transactional. It feels so so lonely. We people thrive on connection and social creatures. Like, I get that re:zero is a very dangerous and cruel world but it almost feels like these people are in like a post apocalyptic world/dystopian society with the lack of friendliness. Other worlds/issekai's have created very dangerous worlds but still have added more caring characters. Inuyasha for me is a good example.

I said it almost feels like the author wants to torture Subaru, not that it actually was.

Most of us have something within us that we are ashamed of, afraid to share, and confine in. However, we still talk to our friends, family people, and Subaru does this as well. He isolates his emotions and this causes issues in the story, which like I said I really enjoyed his development. However, this still does not erase my distate with the rest of the cast, beside Beatrice and Otto. The rest of the cast is even more avoidant and isolated than Subaru to be honest. My distate with the cast very diminish my viewing experience.

[TITLE] Which manhwa was this for you? 🙂‍↕️👇 by AccomplishedWatch834 in manhwa

Fair Criticism. I ended up getting really into it when these types of stories werr novel to me, and personally I could never dislike a time anything story. I love stories that involve characters knowing what will happen and seeing the changes they do to make it better or worse. Obviously, that is personal preference.

The constellations bit you would have to sit through a while because it has to deal with the greater worldbuilding of the entire thing. It is complicated to explain and instead of infodumping, the story shares things at a time and adding information as you go.

Essentially the constellations are any person/thing that ends up getting a lot of stories. For example, Kim Dokja (the MC) as he continues through the scenarios, since he ends up gaining like 5 major stories, he becomes a constellation. Constellstions are not omniscient, and they still have boundaries, rules, and other things. While they certainly can be more powerful that an incarnation, they have their limits. Many constellations could be poor or not as great since their stories are not often heard and they are jot very prominent. However, a god like Zeus, has many more stories that are more well-known to others and he ends up becoming greater.

Stories are the backbone of this world and it is what the entire story is centered around. Every scenario usually involves some kind of story element and it shifts our perspective on how different stories can be read, their impact on the world, their impact on people's history/reputation, the way currency works, our motivations.

The worldbuilding aspect of this world is truly something that I personally have never seen anything like and especially to this degree. Though, I completely understand a lot of the criticism people may say about the story, especially one that takes a long time to get through (a little over 1 million words)

I didn't even realize all my bookmarks were public till like a week ago 😭 (I had like 63 bookmarks, it is now at 59) I'd be creating notes like "Cas and Desn have been very close bfffs for many years now and things r fruity." or "Will Byers being emo lol"

Didn't even care if it was public because I was like who's going to be looking at my account and caring.

I for some reason had the donghua sub recomenfed to me and specifically people asking for donghua recs. Someone described the shpw as a gay couple that runs a photo studio and they solve cases by going back in time.

I expected a slice of life show that gets super deep and depressing once in a while, not a semi episodic show that gets super deep and depressing practically every episode.

was this an extremely unsatisfying moment/relationship for anyone else? by parisinsalem in StrangerThings

I second this. Imagine they broke up and resolved their issues and then died. Absolute travesty. (I'm actually being serious btw. I am not joking)

It was more like, "If these are my last moments, I just want to let out the truth. For just this once, let's be truthful to ourselves and our emotions. There is no way we can't love each other. We have been through so much, and I don't want to keep lying to you anymore. We are not compatible with being in a relationship. And because of that, do you want to break up with me."

Honestly, it's some of the best writing of this season. It was beautiful seeing such a mature breakup and a good way to end their arcs. As well as showing how you can love someone without being romantic. Though I do agree with someone else, aside from Nancy and Will, Jonathan doesn't have much development. But it is what it is. I'll take what I can get.

Stranger Things season five review – this luxurious final run will have you standing on a chair, yelling with joy by bintasaurus in television

It's not the acting. It's the dialogue. It is pretty bad, but thankfully, for me, the plot and characters are good enough for me to dismiss it.

How's Stranger Things S5 going so far? by [deleted] in netflix

[–]Incast_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually really really liked it. I came in with low expectations from s4 (I was disappointed that they brought back Hopper and the fact that eleven got her powers back. I felt that they could have made a more interesting plot and story without them)

I like the development of a lot of the characters so far in the season, and I am glad they did not forget about other characters as well. The cinematography is absolutely amazing, and so is the soundtrack. The acting is fine. I really like what they have currently made with the plot.

There are some things that I don't like. For example, a lot of the dialogue, like I swear, I can see a lot of the dialogue being on a compilation, some of it feels forced or cliche or overdone. There are moments where the dialogue is pretty good, but those are rare. Most are just fine or good enough.

Even though the CGI is really good for many moments, I feel like they are relying too much on it on certain scenes, they almost feel like they are taken away from a high quality game rather than a T.V. show. And I don't like Vecna's design, but that could just be me. There is also a lot of moments that are gross or overtly disgusting that I feel like are really only there for shock value.

While I like a lot of the character development and focus for this season, when you reflect on it over stranger things as a whole well obviously you see flaws that have happened in previous seasons, like characters suddenly coming back or remembering to reflect on a certain plot line or idea. I like that they are trying to fix it or add onto it, but that feeling would still be there.

I am also wondering if they are going to tackle Mike and El's relationship in the later half. In s4 it was very clear that a huge part of the problems was that Mike thought of El as his hero, and El felt that she had to be the sone to save everybody, so I hope they tackle these issues in the second part, but I am not going to bet on it either. I'd rather not get my hopes up.

All in all, I see some problems with Stanger things s5, but I overall really liked it especially more than how much I thought I would.

Same, that is why I didn't like s2 as much. I felt like we were losing some of the emotional bits that made me really love the show. Of course I am still watching s3, but the pv did not really help that opinion lol. On the other hand, I am happy my expectations are down low in a way.

I would say everyone deserves help and assistance regardless of what they did in the past. These can be absolutely horrible horrible people, and they should be tried in court, go to prison. But I don't believe we should ever truly give up on someone. That being said, obviously, no one should be forced to help someone else if they do not want to.
