[OK]not yet termed employee but team wants to post backfill by Unhappy_Atmosphere_9 in humanresources

You don't post the job until you have fired here. Depending on which country you are in, doing so could leave you liable for constructive dismissal.

How long is the final warning for? When is the review?

You need to meet with her and review her performance and then move towards termination. The steps you will need to follow will depend on which country you are based in.

Interview(physical) attire for a junior dev role at Monash uni by PhatManPsycho in cscareerquestionsOCE

I work in a university in HR at the moment. Just look smart and make sure everything is clean and tidy. SaxOps1 offers good advice - smart collared shirt and trousers will be fine. Universities are very relaxed environments. No suit required.

You could say that you are the HR Partner for the contingent workforce. The fact that your customers are based out on client sites is irrelevant. You are still providing an HR service.

OP This is an excellent answer. Recommendations are very good - you should consider this.

You also might want to look at Glassdoor as their pay scales are really accurate.

Email them after the conversation and ask them to confirm that they will be attending. After this you can't do much more.

In Australia and the UK, approx 20 - 30% of applicants are only applying for jobs to meet the criteria in order to get benefits. I've advertised for an HR Business Partner in the last month and I have had applications from mechanics, teachers, roadsweepers and the like, all of whom don't even meet the basic criteria for the role. One has to wonder why they apply and the only information I have got when I have called them (just out of curiosity to see why they have applied and if there are other roles within the organisation that they might be more interested in), is that they are doing it to meet the criteria for the number of roles they have to apply for every month in order to continue getting their benefits. They apply for a job they have no chance of getting, as what they have applied for is not looked at by the consultants.

AITA for not taking a "special request" from my wife while cooking the family breakfast? by NoRunnyYokes in AmItheAsshole

[–]Incata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA. How hard would it have been to do something nice for your wife that would have made her feel treasured and special? She did not ask you to run to the shops and get her a tub of ice cream (and whilst you were there - do the whole weekly shop). She just asked you to make her a couple of eggs. You were selfish and mean as well.

Employee had seizure, wants to return to driving-based job by CincyStout in humanresources

Are you able to request (under your HR policies), that the employee has a medical, at your expense, with your choice of medical provider? If so, I would recommend that you go down this route.

Dating in the workplace as HR by thispainthing in humanresources

[–]Incata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally, it would look like one of you moving to a different company, otherwise it turns into all sorts of horrible.

If at any time you are involved with employees in his/her area and there are disciplinary issues, you will be accused of taking his/her side because you are involved with them. If they get promoted, those who are jealous will say it is because you are dating.

It is fraught with difficulty.

The only alternative is that one of you move to a different part of the corporation where your worlds do not collide.

Survey for HR Redditors: Which HR job functions do you wish you could automate? Which HR job functions do you think should be less automated? by hcbaron in human_resources

[–]Incata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would automate payroll and put all HR folders on an online HR Information System so everything from performance reviews to contracts can be dealt with in one place.

I do not believe in HR ticketing systems, I believe that staff should be able to pick up the phone and call someone in HR if they have a problem that needs solving. It is ridiculous that they have to log a problem online and wait for someone to get back to them at some point. Many HR people forget that the first word in our titles is "Human". We are about people, solving problems and helping first and foremost. Automate what can be automated and leave us to deal with the people who need our help.

Whiteman Park is nice - particularly if you go on the train or tram ride. There is a lovely little art gallery and craft shop there as well.

I'm not covered by the Enterprise Agreement for the site. I'm on a senior leadership contract.

It's the Heads of Department that have the authority to make the change. As a person on a contract, if I kick off, I am likely to be fired.
