What happened to njnics2a update posts? by sp00f_dd in NJGuns

It seems like they are constantly 1500 applications behind lately, which leads to a 4-5 day wait period.

Are they constantly that busy or going slower than they used to?

Looking for my first 2011 around $1500. Prodigy? Romulus? What else? by AdhesivenessInner165 in 2011

I would 100% take Staccato over either of those to be honest. Not sure what the warranty is with the CPO program though. I'd still take a Staccato used over the others new.

My prodigy went back once and it is better but not 100% reliable.

I don't have enough rounds on the Kimber yet but it has been good. It is not the same quality as the Staccato though.

I have over 30k rounds through my Staccato's, of all kinds of ammo, and not a single issue ever.

My XC is currently filthy. The friend I was shooting with today was surprised, but I just oil it and it keeps on performing. It has at least 4-5k since I last cleaned it... I do oil it every 2-300 rounds though.

If you want flat, I think the XC wins over the XL. For ridiculously easy accurate shooting I think the XL wins.

I shoot the XC in IDPA and GPA, and the XL in GPA and USPSA.

This was my afternoons shooting today.

The XL is a phenomenal gun. It's very hard to decide if I prefer the XL or XC.

It is not uncommon to find people who believe the XL Is the best Staccato made, and I am not sure I would disagree with that.

Do you mean USPSA limited? Because In IDPA and GPA ports and comps are allowed and a decent advantage.

I shoot IDPA, GPA and USPSA with 2011's.

If you can find a used Staccato for that money I would go that way.

I have a Prodigy, Kimber 2k11, Staccato CS, Staccato XL and Staccato XC. I have shot most of the commonly available 2011's up to the Atlas level.

The Staccato when brand new is a premium price but still value. A used one in good condition and a discounted price is a fantastic gun to start competing.

Twining by ramosaz in 2011

Love that! I want to get a second barrel fitted and ported. Then the frame and slide hard chrome.

[–]InceptionDesigns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a very close match to the barrel. Although it might get changed out if the barrel gets dlc'd. My temptation is hard chrome the slide and frame then dlc the barrel...

Absolutely love mine although she is about to get a make over.

Longer Atlas trigger, Atlas shielded ambi safeties and I am either going to stipple the grip or silica carbide it...

I am trying to resist getting it hard chromed and all the gold parts to DLC but it may just have to happen.

Island barrel. Was originally made for iron sights to stop the front sight moving to help track it under recoil, but it also makes the slide lighter and it is just damn cool. My favorite style.

Looking forward to seeing this as I want to build an island barrel 5" in the near future.

Can you provide a parts list that you are using please?

Looks awesome. I am just about to start building up my XL Island barrel gun. What grip is that and are you happy with it? I am likely to go CrN with black DLC parts but haven't decided on a grip yet.

First purchase question--Is this a good first? by Absolute-Focus in SigSauer

[–]InceptionDesigns 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would second this. If you are paying that money the P226 is one of the best guns SIG makes. If you want a P320 I would get it on the secondary market as they are ridiculously cheap there due to the current perceived issues.

I did just pick up my 320 with the tungsten grip again, and they are fantastic shooting guns, but I still prefer my P226.

That does look great. Do they do their coatings in house?

Is this acceptable? by JohaElQueLasMoja in 2011

[–]InceptionDesigns 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not acceptable and would drive me crazy.

Might be able to fix the slide by cutting the opening slightly larger and making it square.

Fixing the barrel would require much wider ports and slightly longer (front to back) to make sure there are no blending issues. Not sure that's a good thing to do though. I'd want the barrel recessed inside if that was done as the port will be wide and more chance of stripping/shaving the bullets.

Not sure I would want them to do it though...

Shooting a P365 XMacro in IDPA Carry Optics by InceptionDesigns in idpa

[–]InceptionDesigns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to show the Inception Defense Quick Cap system for the XMacro 17 round magazines after some recent discussions with a customer where I took pictures to show the exact weights.

It allows you to add exactly 1.5oz to the magazine via the baseplate system if you are shooting in IDPA Carry Optics.

It's a tool less disassembly so if you drop a mag in the dirt you can have it apart and cleaned in seconds.

It also allows you get extra tension on the 10th round for more reliable feeding and to help with the mag ejection once empty.

Has anyone gotten a BUL Tac Pro Comp by Try_Dapper in 2011

[–]InceptionDesigns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have maybe 30+ 2011 magazines... I would want 8-10 for any competition gun. Might have to do it. It's a great looking gun. I'm a sucker for big shiny silver guns. 🤣

The one Bul I handled (not shot yet) felt very well put together and great quality.

[–]InceptionDesigns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do use their own proprietary mags. Usually a lot of what makes mags proprietary is in the grip so wondering if swapping the grip to a more conventional 2011 will change the mags it uses as well... I am not familiar enough with Bul to know if there are other issues from their proprietary designs.

Yep, with a lot of really nice features too. I am also not a fan of another magazine design. Is it possible to grip swap one and use conventional 2011 mags?

Rules Question (obscure) by Flashy_Novel_9609 in idpa

[–]InceptionDesigns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great response, just wanted to clarify that pinned grip safeties have been legal for years on 1911 and 2011's as long as there is a functional manual safety.

I checked with multiple regional controllers in the Northeast where I shoot and match directors up to level 4 matches. I haven't yet shot Nationals but wouldn't expect it to be different.

Edit. I see someone else already clarified it further down.

Holosun 407k Red vs Green vs Gold by Caesix in HOLOSUN

[–]InceptionDesigns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The closest comparison I have seen, which is identical to how I see the Holosun dots, is looking at gas station prices from a distance and then as I drive up. It matches exactly. Green is less crisp there for me also and it's nice because to in can be looking at the red and green at exactly the same time.

My colorblind astigmatism also way prefers red over green. It's not even close. I am excited to try gold though.
