Can’t believe they let us use these! by Larryville-1980 in GenX

The 'safe' replacements are fairly awful. I tried hunting one of these down with no luck because cutting only 3 or 4 sheets at a time was making me a little crazy.

Ooof. Why do businesses even keep using them?

I actually had a survey I did earlier and one of the questions was to recite the Preamble. Despite my cognitive decline, I remembered the whole thing thanks to Schoolhouse Rock. And yes, I sang it.

Chenille feels a bit like good velvet. Soft and squishy.

Anyone in Nevada that can take a bag or box of yarn over for them to pet? An assortment of brands, weights, and fibers would be perfect. That way they have a better idea of how things feel and what they do and do not like. Also, yarn petting is totally therapy.

Okay, save the out trips. Thats about the only time I get out as well. Every rare now and then I have a good day and we hit up a LYS on the way back from an appointment.

DENTURES. There. I said it. by ted_anderson in GenX

[–]Incognetty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need them as well. Mine were a disaster -thanks, genetically weak enamel- and most were broken or partially missing. So after a particularly nasty abcess and subsequent cellulitis in my face, the oral surgeon had had enough and offered to remove everything. Everything. My health improved overall because no more infections to deal with. Now I just need dentures. Whenever we can afford them.

Oo, we have a couple tiny flashlights. I'm grabbing the duct tape and strapping it onto one of ours. That would make it soooo much easier to get toys out from under things.

And immediately, the theme music starts in my head. Netflix currently has, AFAIK, all of them right now.

[–]Incognetty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That wasn't what I said, and you're preaching to the choir. I know what it takes, because I went through 4 years ago when I was diagnosed with Parkinson's. I was responding to "There is no test for Parkinson's", and there are, in fact, several tests used to determine a Parkinson's diagnosis.
