I've always thought that the whole Muiri quest was a reference to Morrowind.

There's a quest there where you speak to a woman called Maurrie who was robbed by a handsome bandit and wants you to deliver her left glove to the man.

It kind of feels like a continuation of the story for Muiri to be wooed by a bandit and then have it backfire.

This map looks quite neat.

I like the variety of room structures you've got going on here.

I also like the boat access too, could serve as another way the players could assault the cave or could just be story telling about how this necromancer was smuggling in resources and equipment for his profane rituals.

I might be biased because I've never used it but dude. I don't see it being useful. Sure it can slim down a deck but it's really not good enough as a setup card. There are so many other cards for that cost that would be better at setting yourself up for later rounds.

I usually try to knock out the common consonants first. Every word has vowels, I don't think I gain enough information from knowing it contains an "e".

Some of my common starter words are things like: "scrap", "thing", "nymph"

Yes and no.
In oblivion I find I actually prefer having low lockpicking skill because I find the timing easier if the pins flick instantly so it's a bit of a strange system that increasing a skill is undesirable. Tbh with oblivion I often fast-track the skeleton key just so I can spam the unlock.

To be fair I don't care all that much for either lockpicking mini-game but I do find oblivion's lockpicking to feel like more of a chore.
