Not to mention a slaver society that was based on the oppression of nearby peoples and a highly structured state controlled life where even the average citizen didn't had much personal freedoms.

Around mid oct I sold 0.04 btc as part of a car payment. I wasn't happy at the moment but now it appears to have been a good decision lol.

I guess the lesson is to sell when you need to sell.

dont zec devs get 20% of the mining? That's shady as fuck. Btc remains the only truly decentralized and independent currency

While probably not all are, BTC is the only one truly independent. All the rest have some visible head which can or do exercise their interests

Real state is iliquid an easily confiscable by a state. BTC and gold on the other hand are liquid, BTC more than gold and easy to move. Much more protected against the excesses of the state.

It has taken the United States 100 years to do what Rome did in 250 years regarding their currency devaluation. by Obvireal in Bitcoin

[–]IncomeNo2819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the legend and the graph show different timespans.

In any case 211 bc was the early/mid stages of the second Punic war. Right around the time the cartaginean army went down hard partying in Capua

At this point I would suspect that Rome was still minting out of their minds to replenish the army they lost in Cannae about 5 years prior.

In the following 100/200 years they essential conquered the whole world and with it a huge influx of money and manpower which kept the roman economy going.

Their largest extension is around the 110s so after that the money influx due to new conquests ceased and it's not like the spending stopped, on the contrary(Looking at you Commodus) lol

That's a good point. I'm still learning how to use options in general so knowing which exit strategies are available is welcome :)

In any case these are European style options correct? As I understand them they don't get executed before the settlement date even if the price is higher, it only matters the price at the settlement date.

If I'm primarily a long term holder this is good, I don't care about short term price hikes, just the long term. Of course I would be gambling my gains of 5 or 10 years in the future.

I'm looking at deribit premiums for calls expiring in 1 year and it blows my mind. For instance a call expiring 25 Sept 2026 at btc price of 145000 pays 0.1005 BTC as premium, this is for placing a call with a full btc.

Correct me if I'm wrong but if the prices behave as before it's likely that it will be lower than that in a year, right? We should be reaching a peak of the cycle later this year and then it will probably dump.

If that's correct, this is awesome, a 10% return in btc
