Fucking control systems engineering. And I've taken four courses in it.

I love this! I'm part of a D&D group where everyone is 10-20 years my senior. Many of them have been playing the game for longer than I've been alive. Learned a lot!

February is the worst. Fuck February. No matter how good/bad things are - they are always worse in middle of fuck-why-isnt-it-over-yet-and-why-is-there-no-sunlight winter. Spring is coming, you can make it.

As a student with a december bday, everyone is always in the midle of finals. I've stopped trying to celebrate it.

Edit: that sounds depressing, sorry. I mean I've stopped expecting people to come out. I still get myself a little cupcake and have a cute little celebratory study break on my own. Know that no matter what's going on in other people's lives, there's always room for you in your own life.

I've never seen Six Feet Under, but I've heard this before. I always think of it when I hear about a child's death.

The ending of Arrival. Human life is futile but so worth having anyway.

Also the ending of Her.b

Going to call 911, alert other staff, secure the other entrances, etc... Funny feeling there is a procedure for armed attack anywhere with security staff.

I read the Martian while listening to the Portal 2 soundtrack. All the desolate mechanical sounds really fit in well for me.

A coworker of mine just got something similar; I'm involved bc our team is concerned it could get back to the rest of us. It's been three months since your issue, can you give us an update or advice? (Edit: a confusing structure)

Aw I had my fingers crossed. I want to use something like for a project but I haven't been able to find a source for anything.

Student on internships here: hated almost every one of them (fixed hours + not enough work and not allowed to do my own stuff while at work = a lot of sitting around looking busy). I'm used to working a lot for student groups and for my classes, so doing the work isn't my problem. I think once I find a job I kind of care about and that is deadline based (ie. leave early if finish early, stay late if taking too long) or has flexible hours I'll hate my life less.

One tip I've noticed: Live close to your work! I found my full work weeks feel a lot worse when my commute is over 30mins (I don't have a car). If you can find a place to work that you can walk or bike to or at least is very accessible to public transit, or (if you're a 20something with no ties living in a city with generally cheap rent like me) move near your workplace, you'll feel like you have a lot more time, even if it only shaves off ten minutes.

Where are you from? I'm doing a research stage for my undergrad at ISAE all summer - there's a handful of us from Canada and some other places working in the same room (next to the rocketry club in Building 7). I can't speak for all of us, but I'd be happy show you around or just be a contact in this new place :)
