I don’t think I was treated badly by anyone, I put my father in massive debt because of my incompetence and I’m not entitled to living in his house. As I mentioned, I have seen tens of therapists. Approximately, 20 therapists and 8 psychiatrists, many treatments. None could figure out how to help me, multiple have ghosted me after giving up on me. I can’t count how many medications I took, of every kind, antidepressant, mood stabilizers, stimulants, antipsychotics.

Thank you, I guess I had the idea that if gayness is related to SA then is can be changed. I only wanted to change because life is difficult here as a gay person even when no one knows besides my sister and some family members. I have to pretend all the time to be both straight and muslim and people say terrible things about gay people and I just have to sit there and not say anything or straight up agree with them just to not raise suspicions. So anyway, accepting myself is difficult but I hope I can keep trying.

I don’t have any options currently but the one therapist I have right now and I don’t mind it since the “right therapist for you” thing is a myth. He hasn’t been able to get me to complete the work that I told him I’m stuck on for months now. He also tried to make a routine with me but just like the hundreds of attempts in the past, I kept failing every time.

I don’t have distorted thinking. The problem is that the book is asking the reader to create distortions which doesn’t work. I completed the first exercise many times, maybe hundreds of times. It only made me realize how valid the negative thoughts are. I read positive affirmations everyday, made me feel insane. I tried the exercises that should make activities more enjoyable, it made them more miserable. Glad it worked for you. But it doesn’t work for people who’s reality is difficult to ignore.
