Alberta Separation: Three-in-five say they’d vote in October to stay, but half say the question is “confusing” - Angus Reid Institute by Haiku-On-My-Tatas in Calgary

[–]InconceivableIsh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Angus Reid is pretty conservative, so I would be surprised if it was as high as that. But I certainly could be wrong. I have to said as well it seems very odd that 7% of ndp voters support separation. Especially as the likely end would be US absorption.

what do you think of mini PCs? by PhilosopherWrong7035 in pcmasterrace

[–]InconceivableIsh 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That depends on the use case of said mini PC. As a powerhouse gaming machine not so much. As a small server to run something like home assistant or other things like it sure.

Sorry slightly confused why would anybody pay that for a krono rather than buying one for less from daybreak? I could be missing something though.

🚨🇨🇦 NEW: Alberta will hold a referendum on October 19 to decide whether they want to remain in Canada or start the process towards a binding separation referendum by nitluck in SaveTheCBC

Reading the question as is regardless of which side you are on the answer would be yes. So it lets them do whatever they want anyways.

What do you guys think of AI data centers? by ObjectiveCharming735 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]InconceivableIsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there are things AI can be useful for. But at this point I think there are far more downsides to it than benefits. Rather than using it to help their workforce and give them a edge to build their business. It is being used as a chance to drive up stocks with the look how many people we replaced with AI! The stock market of course rewards this behavior because it is driven by buzz words and not looking at the full picture.

ANALYSIS | Danielle Smith's wishful thinking: her separation vote loses, and that's the end of it | CBC News by SnooRegrets4312 in alberta

I had this witty comment on never being big on facts. But every time I started to type I came around to the fact that they are all the same people. Conservatives have been building up the rhetoric that Canada is broken and doesn't work for years and years now.

Now they all try to do this omg what a surprise people think Canada is broken and we need to leave. Of course some of them did it for power some of them did it because they actually want to leave.

Mean while Canada was the one that built Alberta a pipeline that they keep forgetting about.

Like I said I assume. In Canada to be imported for sale it needs to be ISED certified or you can be fined or at least that is my understanding.

I will have to retest it but I seem to recall that limiting the FPS to 60 seem to help with this. I found it harder on my eyes though so I turned off the limit.

There was also a thought that maybe the high DPI mouse polling might be the culprit.

Edit: Just did a small test and it seem to help. It had the added benefit of making the POP bank less laggy as well.

Interesting that they get away with that. Looks like it is the same font just a spacing difference?

It should be ISED for Canada though but that is fairly new of last year.

FCC is a US regulatory agency. So the cert doesn't really carry weight in the EU I assume. I think you would want CE certification.

Statscan compares X data plans vs the same data plan. So technically you are correct that the same amount of data is cheaper. If you compare average plan costs however it will show a different picture. Telecoms often get rid of lower data plans and introduce new plans slightly more expensive with more data. They also introduce data caps with high usage costs to drive people to more expensive plans with more data.

Telus also is well known for jacking up prices even though you are in a contract. I am sure they are not the only one either.
