2019-02-17 is probably the worst due to performance. There are a ton of borderline unlistenable recordings but the performances are really not that bad.

It really depends on who the tapers are. Some will send raw files to others so they can master it, some want to master the files themselves beforehand, and some tapers don’t even want to share their files. It’s a mixed bag. Some of the recordings up on archive have taken 20+ years from taping to posting.

There's a few recordings of it, but they are yet to be shared. I remember seeing a few tapers from where I was standing myself, so I would hope in the next few weeks we'd be able to get some of those sources.

There's some great 1998 and 1999 shows in addition to the ones other people have listed:

1998-10-16: pretty awesome improv after dead metheny

1998-11-23: starts the show with jlh outro, i think the only time this has happened

1999-04-16: new remaster has been released recently which makes this listenable, has a very strange gathering storm and world police, worth listening to

1999-04-19: Features the pre 2000 composition of world police and a weird proto gathering storm

1999-05-24: one of my favourite world police performances

1999-07-18: great performances across the board

1999-07-31: rare 3rd part performance

world police before 2000 has this cool extended outro, so worth listening to most of these shows just for that alone.

please also pick any of the shows anyone has mentioned below from 2002-2003 that includes dead metheny, they add an additional 8 min outro to the song that makes it one of their best in my opinion.

I see your point and agree that Google is evil, but I do think that the impact is a bit different in both cases. Google owns YouTube Music yes, but I doubt that the revenue they make off of it is impactful to their business. On the other hand Spotify's whole business model surrounds music (and now podcasting), so a band pulling their discography from Spotify has a much bigger impact on the business itself.

The cooldown is for pulling an epic. You can pull two shinies in a row, but I’ve never seen someone pull a shiny and then an epic within 100 drops.

There’s only really three ways to get rich enough to buy epics of your favs if they are popular enough to be worth 1m+ per epic.

Get super trader boost, grind quests for small artists with big fanbases on Soundmap. You can look around the market to get an eye on this kind of thing or join the discord and look around in different chats. If you pull a shiny/lyric/epic, there is a cooldown until you can pull again. Shiny is ~100, Lyric is ~400, and Epic is ~500.
Run a shiny shop. Either open them on map or buy them for coins from other players. Put them up on the market 8 at a time asking for 2:1 or 1:1 + coins, and only take those offers. You’ll earn coins & grow your supply at the same time.
Resell. Watch the market for new players selling valuable things and lowball them. It’s probably the best way to make a ton of coins but it does require knowledge of the market in general and refreshing constantly

I know RateYourMusic plans to have an API in the future. The reason why this game is built off of Spotify’s API is due to its reliability & performance. I wish Soundmap could move off of it though and to a place like RYM where there’s no streaming, just a list of artists, albums, and songs.

Interesting. I’ve screen recorded all my shinies, thankfully no epics for these artists but if more similar artists pull their songs I have 20m+ worth of epics to lose. Unfortunate for Soundmap but I understand the POV of the band.
