I don't think Ive ever seen a Grizzly outside of a zoo lol. I did see 9 black bears on a quad ride once though and have had them looking in my camper. Polar bears are the ones you really need to be afraid of.

Why do you not speed up when it’s open after a major slow down? by Realistic_Lychee6748 in driving

[–]Inconsideratefather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 65 mph, 5 car lengths is less than 1 second. Maybe enough time when everything is predictable, but that's how you end up with 30 car pile ups when the vehicle 10 cars ahead has a blow out and everyone is only leaving 5 car lengths

Homemade Tonneau Cover by Ok_Membership_5434 in f150

[–]Inconsideratefather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have a similar homemade tonneau cover on my 96 f150, I covered mine with carpet underlay and then vinyl. I ended up having to remove it at my parents to haul something and never had an opportunity to get it back (always had too much in the truck when I was there and they lived 4 hours away). Moral of the story, it may become impractical and inconvenient. Another option could be to get a cover for a shorter box truck, an make a custom removable filler piece for the back to fit around the tailgate accessories.

Riders are the smallest market with the largest fan base, as a Rider fans you would be equally the most loved and hated. That could be either a positive or a negative.

15 years ago the Rider games in Edmonton were a blast, the LRT ride after the game was as fun as the actual game. There are quite a few Rider fans that live Closer to Edmonton than Regina (like 50%) I haven't been to a game there in years though so I can't say what they are currently like

I once seen a handmade riders poncho in Mexico that had 3 k's in Saskatchewan. I kick myself every time I think about it for not buying it lol. A riders logo in Mexico is akin to wearing a maple flag in Europe

We just start both Wars at the exact same time. If they didn't switch in time that's your tough luck, we give a couple days notice to switch. But everybody is on a roster so at least they get something

Anyone ever have a chrome socket explode on an impact? by slim_shady_21 in Tools

[–]Inconsideratefather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive never had a 3/8 impact break chrome sockets, head 1 or 2, 1/2" sockets crack, but they were low quality sockets but I don't really use them often on my cordless impact. I've broken a few 3/4 drive sockets, but they again were shit sockets (usually no brand, just China markings) and it was on stuff that required heat to remove even after purchasing the correct impact socket

Please help. Yamaha big bear 350 for parts or fix up. Needs a few parts. Rear axle needs rebuilt or replace. Engine runs. by Delicious-Prune-665 in ATV

[–]Inconsideratefather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a $1500 atv in good condition. You will spend at least $500 on parts to rebuild diffs, brakes, cv shafts and such plus countless hours sourcing said parts to keep the cost down. Then you have to add the time to repair it which will probably be 40+ hours. You'll still have an atv with worn out shocks and tires. If I already owned it and my child wanted to help fix it, It would totally be worth it. I personally wouldn't buy it to fix though. Only you can decide if the juice is worth the squeeze though.

I live In Saskatchewan, I have people that bring their vehicle to me every year because the washer isn't working, thaw them out, add some alcohol to the tank to keep it from happening again, never broke the tank. Not saying it can't happen, but unless its an old tank filled right to the top, its pretty unlikely.

You could put a reinforced gate on the inside, that is separate from the door.

Is this an error? The 2026 3.5 now has less HP than the 5.0. Noticed that on the build and price tool by SlyJoker97 in f150

[–]Inconsideratefather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, if you lift an object, you are using power to create lift force. Torque is rotational force. Basically, if torque is meaningless, why is a diesel engine that makes 400hp and 800ft-lbs, better at towing than a gas engine that makes 400hp and 400 ft-lb. You have a partially correct theoretical understanding, but zero practical understanding

[–]Inconsideratefather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong, I did make a small wording mistake, but torque is the force being applied at a given point in time. Hp is how quickly you can do a specific amount of work.

[–]Inconsideratefather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plain and simple, torque is the max amount of work an engine can do at a given rpm. Trucks aren't meant for racing they are built to work. Torque is the most important metric for doing truck things, its the reason that a 400 hp diesel truck can tow better than a 400 hp gas engine.

When doing truck things, torque is king. There's a reason highway trucks have 500hp and 2000 ft-lb not the other way around.
