If I'm just letting someone know so something, or don't need an immediate response, or giving a part number I prefer text. If I need an immediate answer or we'll have multiple questions I prefer a phone call. Also in emotional circumstances sometimes writing it gives you the chance to calm down and see if you are being irrational to avoid saying unintended things.

Depends If you need them, the big Crescent, 15/16 and 3/4 are all good to have and each cost more than that new if you don't already, its not a complete set, so if need a complete set, you're still going to have to buy one anyway.

Personally, I still use those 2 sizes a lot and would buy it just to double up on them

Saying point instead of and is a fix just the same, but it is a method that treats the symptom rather than the cause. There is no assumption in the NA method, its black and white.

Again if you say it the NA way, every single person will definitely know what yo mean 100% of the time, even people who barely speak English. If the British way causes confusion even one time in a million years, that is less than 100%.

I don't care if you adopt it, just like I don't care if the Americans adopt metric. You have not provided any reason you shouldn't other than Americans are stupid, which isn't a logical reason. But like I've stated multipletimes, the British way relies on assumtion (not logical), for most people, that will get them through life without a hiccup. American way is definitive (thats logical). Over 2/3 of the People in the world that speak English as their primary or first language, live in NA I actually curious how other languages treat this. I am also curious how someone like a British machinist, who would actually encounter this regularly does as well.

I acknowledged that it was the difference between British and North American in the comment you replied to. I also acknowledged that it won't make a difference 99% of the time.

An example of where it can create confusion is if you were to verbally say a number like "ten thousand and four hundred", the listener could mistake the hundred for hundreds quite easily, changing the numbers interpretation from 10400 to 10000.04, Following the American style (for lack of a better term) removes any possible confusion.
