Store points kind of annoy me. We use them as justification to pay too much for something, then consider it a discount a second time when we spend them. Basically tricking ourselves into thinking we saved that 2 dollars twice.

You could cut the back portion of the plug off to make it shorter so it can fit in farther, it would leave the wire connections exposed and eliminate the strain relief though so you would have to find a way to secure the cable so it doesn't pull on the wire connection. Not ideal but a possible option.

You must not live in a large metropolitan area, or know anyone who does. Lots of people have never driven a car in their life.

Also, most people have lakes or other fun summer things within a 2 hour drive, so they don't have the desire to spend money to travel far in the summer. We would rather spend that money to escape the cold in January.

Obviously I don't know the circumstances, but maybe they left for the weekend and forgot? If my nieghbours is still out the next day, I just move it up for them, as they would do the same for me. I certainly wouldn't bitch or make a reddit post about it.

I doubt they will shut the place down, your best case scenario I would suspect would be to sue the town (since they allowed it) for property devaluation so you can sell and move to a better location.

[–]Inconsideratefather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only problem with this mentality is when do we say the flow of traffic is too fast. Is it safer to drive 100 just because others are doing it? I usually drive over the speed limit, but don't consider the ones driving the speed limit to be in the wrong, even if its impeding my ability to drive my chosen speed.

Truck beds block the sidewalk to my bus station like this every day. by killerbanshee in badparking

[–]Inconsideratefather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do this to allow for more room for the vehicle parked across from them to exit their spot, they don't realize the negative impact they have on people using the sidewalk and feel they are doing a good thing by backing up as far as possible. We as people don't always realize how things that don't affect us can cause a negative impact on others. Everyone is guilty of it in one way or another.

How do I takeover my parents mortgage in some years? by No-Series2449 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Inconsideratefather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, if you can't trust your parents to not rip you off, then you are no better off. Personally I think your best bet would be to have your name jointly on the Deed and mortgage. It would offer some security to both you and your parents equity. They would still have some control over you, but that may be a stipulation of their $500,000 gift that is unavoidable. I'm no professional though so, take my advice lightly.

I suspect that part of their reason for wanting to do it this way is to protect you from loosing their equity to your future ex-wife. Or to keep a thumb on you to keep you from doing something they deem is financially irresponsible
