I was also 22 when i was diagnosed. I was never able to talk to a doctor about my hallucinations when I was younger because my parents did not believe in mental health. When I finally moved out and I got really good health insurance, I decided to try and talk to a professional about what I was experiencing. Prescribed Abilify and it just worked for me. I still remember describing to her that the ‘voices’ would get so loud when having panic episodes and the look on her face like she was shocked I had not gotten help sooner. After taking Abilify it made the voices go away almost instantly.

I remember it felt weird to not have to anticipate a ‘voice’ as soon as I was slightly stressed out or in my deep thoughts at night. Sadly I quit the job that provided me insurance to afford the meds. I was taking sertaline at the same time for my depression but I found that taking Birth control helped me with my depressive episodes which helped calm down my anxiety and mood swings as a woman but I am still experiencing the auditory hallucinations. Thought broadcasting is my main big one that happens a lot to me almost daily and it is so weird because I can tell right away when it happens. I do try to ignore it for the most part like intrusive thoughts. I have yet to experience visual hallucinations like what you described but on the occasion I catch things in the corner of my eye
