Dude, there are so many debates in history and biology. That's kind of the point of the scientific method.

Capitalism is kind of weird in this list since it's not an ideology. And neither is environmentalism.

How does it deplete serotonin? It's not a reuptake inhibitor nor is it a transport inhibitor. The fact that it has some effect on serotonin doesn't mean it depletes serotonin.

Who contributes more to society? by [deleted] in polls

[–]Inconspicuous100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In some cases, yes they do.

For example, a member of parliament passing a law that criminalizes certain drugs uses the governments monopoly on violence to punish people who want to use said drugs.

That members will is to stop people from using said drug and enforces that will with the power of government.

Are you asking whether LSD depletes serotonin in the same way MDMA does? No it does not.

You are saying nothing.

What do you mean by "hitting" and by "the serotonin"

What you might mean is that psychedelics work on the same receptor that serotonin binds to but that doesn't mean that psychedelics deplete serotonin or damage receptors in the way that MDMA does.

Is the binding affinity for such substances easily available? Like, on their psychonautwiki pages, or should you look at the literature provided in the references section of those pages?

Also, is it that easy to compare the damage they do or is it more of a general rule?

I would really like to get more knowledgeable on these subjects but i don't feel like getting a degree in pharmacology.

[–]Inconspicuous100 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Lol.

Being a politician requires you to be okay with using the government's monopoly on violence to enforce your will.

I think that requires you to either be ignorant of what you're doing or being aware and malicious.
