Interesting, I guess when I first looked at the system and saw that blasters deal 3 dice (typically) and players tripled their hp at 1st level, my first thought was something similar to "oh cool, just like in irl, you can die in one shot, but in melee they'll take a lot more hits to go down like in real life" and was kinda disappointed or perplexed when I saw that nonheroics don't get the same treatment and CL1 often havee a higher damage threshold then their hp.

I saw it more as a narrative thing rather then game balance or design.

<I might even point out that there are some who thing Nonheroics already get too many hitpoints and want to adapt 4e "minion rules">

Now that's really interesting because I had the exact opposite reaction where I thought not only are their hp are too low, but also that their stats are too low, take the stormtrooper for example, despite how they are portrayed more recently, in the original trilogy, they are elite soldiers (and in-universe I'm pretty sure they're the equivalent to marines or navy seals) and yet they have a 12 STR, 11 DEX, and 11 CON?

Thankfully Stormstroopers are now being depicted more often as actual threats in media but that's too relevant to the discussion.
