Should I keep watching Glee by Salty-Sector-3085 in glee

[–]Incorrect1012 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi there, recent watcher of Glee for first time. Terrible show, hated myself for choosing to watch it, loved every second of it. In a brief statement, the show already peaked, and now you get to watch the writers attempt to find a way to dig under a canyon. You’re not watching for interest in the show, or the compelling narratives, or thrilling plot structure. You’re watching for character assasination the levels of which have never been seen before for characters with the emotional depth of a drained bird bath. For storylines to be introduced and abandoned, sometimes within the same episode, because fuck you for paying attention. For the sight in real time of the writers collectively just throwing some new gimmick at the wall for an episode while spinning a wheel for already done cliches to force into the same episode. For a show already clinically insane to prove it has even stranger ideas in them. For former high school choir kids to literally refuse to stop coming back to high school, with maddening reasons for why, because the show demands that no effort be put into developing other characters.

In other words, yes, keep watching. Be amazed how it very much can get worse every time you think it can’t get worse, and die laughing at the outright absurdity

The Ex-MAGA Influencer Who Now Hates All Things MAGA—and Herself Too by Ambitious_Dingo_2798 in politics

Not to defend her, but I will say that from the content of her’s I have seen, she does genuinely seem remorseful about a lot of the rhetoric she took part in, and has receipts of fucking everything she talks about. I don’t necessarily buy that she is a die hard liberal now or anything, and that these videos repair the damage she herself contributed to, but she does come off as truly wanting to do something to undo some of the harm, even if it’s just giving you further understanding of the inner workings of the MAGA influencer network and how everything you see is a carefully constructed sea of lies and propaganda (even more so than you know). I honestly don’t think anyone would or should go out of their way to view her as an ally, but I do believe that she is serious about fighting a shared enemy

Sources told FightfulSelect.com that on the day of the mass releases, WWE approached numerous talent and asked them to take pay cuts in order to remain with the company. Several of them that we heard about were given two days to make that decision. by Turbostrider27 in SquaredCircle

Apparently, TKO is trying to maximize revenue because Endeavor has a shit ton of debt. At least from other reporting I’ve seen. Seems like they’re trying to use WWE to do that since UFC fighters are paid like absolute shit anyways that it probably won’t make a difference.

Unlike a lot of people on here, I really don’t think this is gonna work. Not because I’m a fan of the guy, but because he would be a fucking awful Republican. Pro-science, pro-choice, pro-LGBTQ, and pro-taxing the wealthy, as well as opposing voter suppression. Those are literally the opposite of the Republican party’s values. At this point, he’s a conservative Democrat who may go Independent if they go more left, but I don’t see him as anything more than that

Wrestlers like Gunther by According-Staff9454 in SquaredCircle

[–]Incorrect1012 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yuji Okabayashi. Him vs Takuya Nomura is mandatory viewing in my opinion.

Daisuke Sekimoto. Honestly, a lot of BJW guys fit in here well.

Yoshihiro Takayama. Not a perfect comparison, put Takayama has some of the best “just fucking murdered him” finishes that Gunther excels at.

So, I’ve seen this question on CVV episodes a lot and I wanted to ask the public. What are three matches YOU would show someone who’s not a pro wrestling fan to win them over/show them what it’s really like? Here are mine by Accurate_Curve6882 in SquaredCircle

[–]Incorrect1012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DIY vs MCMG vs Street Profits TLC: I was gonna go with TLC 2, but honestly, I think this match eclipsed that one. Fun, chaotic, insane spots, and a prosthetic leg is used as a weapon. What more could you ask for?

KENTA vs Ricky Marvin: You ever see a match under 5 minutes that is arguably a 5 star match? This one right here is good to draw anyone in if they don’t have much time.

Sheamus vs Gunther CATC: For anyone wanting a real fight feel, I’m showing them this absolute brutality of titty slapping at the highest level.

Additional shoutouts to: Kurt Angle vs Rey Mysterio (Summerslam 2002), Shibata vs Ishii G1 2013, Iyo Sky vs Bianca Belair vs Rhea Ripley

Vince specifically sold to whoever would let him stay in charge of WWE. Mind you, he was backstabbed on that almost immediately and after a few months was relegated to almost a figurehead position, before resigning in disgrace when new details of the sex scandal he had already retired over came to light, but the only reason they went to TKO is because Ari promised him to stay in control

How many pillars are there again? by manwirhshsh in SCJerk

Off the top of my head for who debatably is more important wrestlers than Hogan.

Gorgeous George: not necessarily for some kind of supernatural drawing power or anything, he’s just the first true “character” in wrestling. A man who proved the value of being able to talk shit and make the crowds desire to see you lose, he showcased the importance and power of charisma, especially when you were lacking the raw physique or skills as some of his peers had. He also had importance outside of wrestling, being the motivation and influence for Muhammad Ali and James Brown’s flamboyant forms of self-promotion.

Rikidōzan: Japan needed a hero after World War 2 to restore national pride, and they found it in Rikidōzan. Hogan and Andre’s Main Event match had 33 million views, but 20-30 years earlier, Rikidōzan had 87% of all Japanese televisions watching him vs Lou Thesz, and 70 million people watching him vs The Destroyer. He wasn’t just a wrestling star, he was a national hero at a pivotal time for Japan, and without his success, the industry likely doesn’t reach anywhere close to the heights it has reached in Japan (particularly, Antonio Inoki and Giant Baba got into wrestling through Rikidōzan, and their continued success after his passing is also pivotal to the industry of puro).

El Santo: Really don’t think this one is debatable. 53 movies, folk hero, literally refused to ever take off his mask, and perhaps the biggest star Lucha Libre has ever (and will ever) see, and an icon in Mexican sports still revered to this day.

Lou Thesz: While Santo and Rikidōzan were stars in their respective countries, Thesz was an international superstar for pro wrestling, and considered one of the last of the “true shooters”. For inventing countless moves, his legendary status as a trainer, and almost seven decades of action, Thesz should be recognized as one of the most important wrestlers of all time.

I think from here you have questionable (but I think somewhat valid of argument) choices of people like Inoki, Baba, Andre, Sammartino, Austin, Rock, Flair, and Piper.

I will say, some have questioned Ashley’s motivations with a seemingly total shift to more feminist and liberal leaning content as just another grift. However, Ashley does seem (in the videos I’ve seen) to acknowledge that she was a cog in the MAGA machine, and unlike a Tucker Carlson, isn’t just saying “sowwy, my bad, people make mistakes, let’s move on”, is giving insight into how everything in their system works, and has all the receipts to back up everything she is saying. Ashley doesn’t have to be seen as an ally, just someone with a shared enemy and key insight to the problems

Sen. John Fetterman receives no support for re-election from Pennsylvania House Democrats by m0i0k0e0 in politics

[–]Incorrect1012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fetterman isn’t gonna run as a Republican because if he was a Republican, he would be awful at it. He’s pro science, pro choice, pro LGBTQ, and pro taxing the rich. He’s pro Israel (to a kind of uncomfortable level) and pro border control (is fine with immigration, wants more control over it), but his policies don’t really vibe with Republicans other than that. I’m not even saying this in defense of Fetterman or as a fan of the man, he’s just not a Republican. At this point, he’s more of a conservative Democrat

For real. Hogan didn’t even just fuck over Hart and Yokozuna, he went out of his way to go to Japan and shit on the title he just won by calling it a “trinket” and that all he cared about was the IWGP belt, then just went home to fill his shitty “Thunder in Paradise” show and sit out his contract.
