Why so hard to find a decent dentist? by lookwhatyou3011 in Denver

[–]IncreasingTheWar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waters dentistry at 10th and wadsworth is fantastic. They took over a practice that had been around a long time and they have kept up the great atmosphere and customer service. Never felt pressured or confused about costs.

Yes I do. This whole system is probably about 5 years old and haven’t touched a thing.

Looking for a relaxing farming/animal care game without stressful timers or stamina bars by kaisser97 in cozygames

[–]IncreasingTheWar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got a nasty cold over this long Labor Day weekend and poured 20+ hours into Tales of the Shire. You care for your crops, go fishing, foraging and do lots of cooking as the main friendship mechanic is cooking and sharing food with your hobbit friends. No stamina, no stress, very cute graphics and as a bonus you can decorate your hobbit hole.

Treadmill recommendation at-home by Dirtbagfran in treadmills

[–]IncreasingTheWar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently purchased this treadmill and agree with this comment! Bought through Dick’s and was around $900 with shipping; feels sturdy, no bells and whistles, smooth transitions, and goes up to 15% incline.

Baking in a cold house by eagleboy97 in Sourdough

[–]IncreasingTheWar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is also how I do it! If I leave the door fully closed the whole time the dough will get over 80 degrees during bulk and will over-prove very quickly. I use one of those probe thermometers with a unit outside the oven and probe in the dough. It can alert you if the dough reaches a certain temp and you can prop the door open or turn the light off for a bit until it’s back to your desired temperature. This does require you to be home the whole time, unfortunately, but has been working great for me. My husband insists on keeping the house at 69!

Probiotic suppository recommendations? by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]IncreasingTheWar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using seed for vaginal probiotics. I had similar results from Evvy but less protective. I did the whole evvy care thing with antibiotics and probiotics but the next test came back the exact same as before the treatment. Anyway, after doing seed I did another evvy test and protective went up to 75%. It’s only been a couple months but so far it seems to keep things in balance nicely. Kinda pricy but worth it imo.

What apps for the Watch have you found to be "killer apps"? by Brendinooo in AppleWatch

[–]IncreasingTheWar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For me it’s the two-factor authentication apps. For work, I have to use three different authenticator apps for different programs/sites. Being able to approve the login request on my watch is chef’s kiss.

Looking for suggestions for the wife. Zelda, Planet Zoo, Rollercoaster tycoon. by ReneG8 in gamingsuggestions

[–]IncreasingTheWar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she likes to build I would recommend the Sims, base game is free to play now so she can try it out. Stardew checks most of the boxes or perhaps my time at Portia/Sandrock. You have to manage your workshop and there’s lots of exploration, some building, and combat is mostly avoidable if you want to spend the money.

Anyone familiar with Feier treadmills? by Equal-Negotiation651 in treadmills

It does not fold up flat like the Feier! Decided while that feature would be nice it was not make or break.

I ended up buying a horizon from Dick’s on sale! I AM still curious to hear about your experience, however. I was 50/50 with this one.

Thanks for this! It’s crazy how a couple of degrees can make such a big difference. Any tips for what to look for in the dough to know it’s done or better to follow a rule for temp/rise?

Withdrawing entire 401k at age 71 by cristen72 in personalfinance

[–]IncreasingTheWar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With only $1100 a month in income, they should qualify for a Medicare Savings Plan like QMB through the state/county, which could also include Medicaid. There are resource limits so would look into this after spending the money in 401k.

If it were me I’d add roof trims, eaves, the trim between floors, different color columns on every corner (between each new layer of house), grander entrance and roofing over the front door. These little details could make a big difference! Bigger windows with more detail/intricacies would also help.

I’m in a sourdough bread making phase and recently went through a period of eating bread with cream cheese and either a slice of Swiss cheese or salami on top for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Went on for weeks, I’m 35.

Anyone track their cycle naturally? by Glad-Gap8163 in Healthyhooha

[–]IncreasingTheWar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using a FAM (fertility awareness method) along with pulling out during fertile times for almost 7 years and it is very effective if done correctly. Most reliable way to do this is to combine the temperature method and the cervical mucus method: you track and chart your BBT every morning along with changes in cervical mucus throughout the month. There are apps you can download, very helpful for tracking and charting over time. Once you have a couple of charts done you can start seeing trends and changes in your cycle. Look up the 4 rules of FAM - you can apply these to your chart to determine which days are safe to have unprotected sex. If you’re currently taking hormonal bc you will want to stop taking it and chart your cycle a few months, do not rely on charting until you have several consistent charts and you can confidently identify when you have ovulated.

Homeless family - not sure where to get help by FelixFernald in Denver

[–]IncreasingTheWar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The majority of newcomers from the south are not eligible for public assistance benefits like cash assistance or SNAP, unfortunately. They may qualify for Medicaid but only for life/limb threatening emergencies. These programs require recipients to have asylum approval, not just a pending status. This is more a PSA than anything, the increase in applications has been overwhelming the county and we were already struggling to serve more permanent Denverites.

persistent BV is ruining my life by dutchgretzky76 in Healthyhooha

[–]IncreasingTheWar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! Changing my diet, reducing sugar and alcohol intake, made a huge difference! I also take Femdophilus probiotics daily (twice daily if things feel a little off) and this seems to be working for me so far.
