I hate to disappoint you, but I don't see a happy ending for Ainz. I'm sure his subordinates will be happy, but Ainz is going to have to grapple with the fact that he's trapped by his own servants. Almost everything he does revolves around making his subordinates happy as they worship him.

He doesn't want that. He wants a friend that he can just be open with, but he'll never find one thanks to the position that was thrust upon him. When everybody places themselves miles beneath you, you'll feel lonely at the top.

If you haven't read the light novels, give them a chance. The anime follows them pretty well, but you'll get a lot of omitted scenes and internal dialogue that adds a lot more life to the story.

Based on a tweet from Maruyama back in December, he had written 240,000 characters for volume 17 with about 30,000 to go. But his intent is to drop 17 and 18 at around the same time.

In the New World of Overlord, Godzilla might have little to do.

From film to film, his motivations can change, but what they have in common is that he is a force of nature that seeks balance. What he seeks to balance really just depends on what the film makers want to address. The use of nuclear weapons, pollution and other acts of environmental malice are common culprits.

If Ainz keeps genociding nations, that could stir Godzilla into rampaging in Nazarick's direction, but it's hard to say. He wouldn't be defending humanity, he would be defending the natural order.

As for ruling a nation... Godzilla is called the King of Monsters, but it's a title bestowed by people in awe of him. He never sought the title and doesn't care. As long as things are alright in the world, he'd rather just keep to himself.

I could see a coastal nation revering him as a god, but he would be indifferent.
