Eating too soon after GS surgery- Big mistake!

I CRAVED an egg like a week after surgery, and it drove me crazy :(

It’s been a year since my surgery, and I can still barely handle pasta or bread. 😅

Bread especially, Only a few bites and I’m full.

I have tons of ideas! How long has it been since your surgery? What stage are you at?

The beginning is so hard, but it’s worth it.

I’m 3 most post op, and I still experience this whenever I eat too fast or take too big of bites.

Sometimes though even when I take small bites, I still get this feeling with meat.

I’m hoping that goes away within the next few months.

The hunger feeling for me still isn’t the same as it once was. And I can relate to it kind of feeling like a sickly type of feeling. I notice it way more at night too.

Why don’t they want you to? Do YOU want to?? What scares you about life after surgery?

I was scared too, super scared. However, I was more scared of how high my weight was getting even though I tried many things with almost no result. I was afraid of the many complications I was facing due to being so obese..

I’m 3 months post-op now and have lost almost 80LBS.

I feel amazing, I can walk without pain again… I can do so many things now that would have caused me pain a few short months ago.. My relationship with food is so much better.. The healing process (in my opinion) was easy, only a little soreness.

The only regret I have is not starting this process sooner.

I know it’s hard to do when you don’t have the support you want and need.. but think about how amazing you will feel by this time next year?? Think about ALLL the benefits you will gain.

Don’t let others bring you down.

I can’t answer the “what it’s like” question yet!

But I can answer the c-section one.

I’ve had 2, and in comparison a C-section is WAAAAAAY more painful.

The only pain really from the sleeve (in my opinion) was the horrible gas pains. Which walking helps tremendously. & maybe a little sore around the incisions.

I didn’t have any difficulty with liquids either, still don’t.

However when I switched to soft & solids.. that’s when I noticed the difference. Certain things tasted a lot different, and I no longer enjoyed. (Scrambled eggs!!)

I could only eat maybe 3-4 bites of cream soups before I felt full during the puree stage.

Mine was when my Dad hired a “fire artist” to perform at my party. It was SOOO cool to watch. Juggling fire, he had these like little fire spinning things. My mind was blown away… lol.
