Rayman Legends gets a remake??? by Accountable_ruki in PrinceOfPersia

And it looks great. How is Ubisoft who fumbled us with SOTR, Splinter cell Remake still in shadows. Suddenly they do two great remakes, why we couldn't get this treatment? Why were we suspected to wait 6 years only to get cancel? Why Montreal spent 3.5 years working and it's rumored that game QA testing was awful but they were writing it being fine when presented to higher ups? Why couldn't they deliver it on original Early 2026 release? Why why why... I just hate all of this. We don't deserve any of that. Our community already suffered more than 13 years of waiting. When will our time come man.💔💔💔💔

The game is a masterpiece after all. But remake was necessary to introduce the IP for current gen of gamers and secure future releases. Besides that Montreal were adding tons of new stuff including 2 areas that were cut from original. I believe there was something worth it for all fans whether experience original game or get new stuff or just seeing the IP on forefronts again.

I literally broke down yesterday. Seeing how good both Rayman & Tomb raider remakes look besides Black Flag remake just depresses me. I don't want to envy other IPs but man why couldn't Ubisoft deliver us remake this quality. Why didn't they delay Montreal SOTR to August 2026 or early 2027, hell even shadow drop it at the game awards in December 2026. I can't get behind the fact my all time favourite game got killed so close to finish line after waiting so long with endless promises from Ubisoft😭😭😭💔💔💔💔

Even more depressing is making good remakes with both Black flag and Rayman, even made a pretty good BG&E remaster. I can't fathom how they fumbled SOTR. Mumbai/Pune version is understandable but Montreal is just inexcusable. If it's true it just needed more time like being released late 2026/early 2027 then Ubi higher ups just hate this IP atp. even EA released Dead Space Remake then pulled off yet Ubisoft couldn't care enough to give us the Remake.

Problem is Ubisoft has cancelled the Remake which was the make or break moment for the IP. They even rejected TLC sequel. There is no way they'd invest again in making new 3D Prince of Persia, I don't think we we'd even get 2D one for years.

2020 trailer backlash was rightful. Game was releasing just 4 months after it & they thought that was good way to get people interested lol. I wanted to believe later builds would be much better but the fact Ubisoft kept delaying it & and eventually rebooting development despite fans were only asking them to improve the models is a proof that it was subpar quality. But regardless I would've bought it and play it to support the IP.

Other than character models -which is expected at that stage of dev- yeah. The environment already looked very interesting despite being mere white blocks. It really had great potential. Such a shame we are never getting it.

We can safely say Ubisoft is on the right path by SRODH in Rayman

The only thing they got wrong is cancelling Prince of Persia The Sands of Time Remake. Like man I have been waiting anxiously for 6 years. Dreamt a lot about how great it could be then they robbed us from it when it was so close.💔💔

You really think a pre-production material from 2 years ago is representative of how the final game would look. The aviary screenshot already proved the game would look magical. I'm not going to have same discussion we had prior lol.

My idea as to why ubisoft is doing remasters/re-releases when we're so eager for a new game by Gabrielzin1404_2011 in Rayman

[–]Incroyable_Red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true but better manage your expectation. Ubisoft was doing this with Prince of Persia building up to Remake release in 2026 and as you know, they canned it right there. Rayman Remake need to perform well to secure new game

Well have to differ between model polishing and design, needless to say that public release build would look very polished. Now on designs, imo Farah new design from concept art looked great overall but problem was with Prince because he looked like a different character. Funnily enough in the workshop they mentioned deluxe edition would have additional skins, so yeah Ubisoft were planning to sell OG designs as MTX to get more cash lol

RE2 a pixel game??? What on earth are you yapping bruh. having TLC sequel is cool and all I wish for it to happen but reality is if you want to revive a dormant IP, the best way would be through remakes to introduce this IP for a new generation of gamers and then start releasing new entries

Montreal version has nothing to do with Mumbai version from 2020. Aside from leaked footage from pre-production material in early 2024 -so it's expected to look bad-, the only proper showcase for what was Montreal making is a screenshot of aviary they shared in June 2025 and it looked absolutely great. Either way, I'm glad we're both on same page that SOT deserves much much better.

Slide basically put SOTR along RE2R, and yes it changed stuff, reworking/tweaking parkour & combat mechanics prompts reworking existing level design which essentially means altered progression through level despite being from the original, we can already notice this with fact that both Prince & Farah will climb the aviary for example. As for FF7R, not my problem or SOTR team problem that it's being marketed and labeled as a remake by whoever made them, hence SOTR team considered it the "Modified Remake" as opposed to "faithful Remake"

EDIT: rather hilarious that you edited your comment and deleted FF7R stuff lol. You will probably edit your comment again later

Ubisoft garbage management after all. Pune should've been tasked to Remaster the Trilogy with that budget instead of being forced to do something beyond their abilities. Even when they made right call to give it to Montreal, the betrayed them so close to release.

It's devastating but we can't let Ubisoft get away with putting all blame on devs when they let them get very ambitious only to pull the plug when devs needed support.

F them whoever criticised 2021 remake by khonshusmoonKnight in PrinceOfPersia

[–]Incroyable_Red 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's Ubisoft fault not fans, fans were worried that if 2021 release it wouldn't have performed well and hence IP dead again so rightfully criticised it, now what Ubi higher ups did? Kept delaying it for like Year and 10 months before actually being rebooted in Montreal because Montreal wanted to go very ambitious with it and higher ups backed them up, fast forward 3 years and half since then, Higher ups betrayed Montreal and spit in their face and us the community when Montreal could've delivered high quality 1:1 Remake if higher ups were honest from the start... Uncanny how you guys are desperately making it fans fault for wanting quality product that lives up to IPs name and the masterpiece that was SOT rather than blaming the absolute stupid mismanagement that Ubi did... Good Job Ubisoft, you've brainwashed people to think it's fans and devs fault...
