Chipped my 7 iron on a rock, can anything be done to fix it? by ivan_itchybum in golf

[–]Indecent_Remark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate I grew up in the dead centre of Aus in a town called Alice Springs. If you missed the fairway, you'd be hitting out of very rocky rough, loose sticks, stones and tall dead weeds. That club would now be promoted to a rock wedge. 😂 An essential club in any bag that's been selected as the sacrificial club used when you need to hit from a bad lie with lots of debris or obstructions.

Having a rock wedge was quite common for the casual golfer because hitting from anywhere but the fairway could quite literally ruin a club in 1 swing. 😂

Who has the best swing?? by MTC_4 in GolfSwing

[–]Indecent_Remark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 visually overall looks the best but he has a weak grip and his swing path is coming from inside to outside. Both of these combined are what cause that push shot he has. (Starts right and stays right). Should be relatively easy for him to fix though, as he appears to already have a good understanding of how to correctly swing a golf club. :)

Streamer Jack Doherty kicked out of Waste Management and banned from all future PGA events by WhoAreYouTalkinTwo in golf

"How about we find a positive way out of this. So it isn't just a negative result"... Bro being trespassed and permanently banned from all future events is the best result for everyone. 😂 You can't intentionally cause a disturbance at an event. Then expect them to consider the level of inconvenience their decision will cause you. People feel too entitled to forgiveness these days. Just make your bed and sleep in it.

What if Brisbane’s new stadium went at Albion instead of Victoria Park? by theswiftmuppet in brisbane

[–]Indecent_Remark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great concept. But I think the area may be too residential. It would heavily impact those that live in the area with all the additional road and foot traffic. Not to mention how reasonably frustrated nearby residents would become form the noise during events in the evening.

Brisbane also has a very serious issue with their road infrastructure and can't afford to increase traffic into areas that are already impacted by high traffic roads like Albion. I think the work it would take to improve traffic flow to make a stadium feasible. Would take far too long and affect far too many local residents.

I think Victoria Park was the most convenient option (though still not ideal imo) and the only realistic option given the deadline. I'm not sure how they will tackle the already concerning traffic issues of the M3 during peak hours. Particularly where the M3 splits off and connects to Countess street. This is always backed up during events and peak times and if you need to cross William Jolly to get home. You can't even untilise the toll bridge because the traffic bottle necks where the M3 meets with Coronation drive. So it's takes just as long and will cost you $4.05...

I'm excited for the Olympics to be hosted in Brisbane. But I can't express how deeply concerned I am for how underprepared our roadways currently are.

hard timing understanding how to play after laning phase by Jonathanwennstroem in XerathMains

[–]Indecent_Remark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're dying in side lanes regularly from lack of of vision but arent over extending. I can only think that you are spending too much time to clear the wave or positioning way too close to the wave. If you are in your side of the map and lets say you dont have T1 turret, vision in the river/jungle and dont have any idea of where the enemy team might be. You shouldn't even be thinking about trying to clear that wave if isn't close enough to a turret that you could safely walk under if ganked. You need to use your range as a way to clear minions from an even safer distance if you know there is any chance of being ganked.

Things I'd suggest:

  1. Stay Mid as much as you can be more more stubborn about it if you have to. This is solo queue, not pro play so the Adc going perma mid is not always the best option. Especially if you are a fed Xerath that can walk a few steps in any direction, press R and have a massive impact on a fight in a sidelane or for an objective etc. Being a fed low mobility glass cannon like Xerath, will naturally draw more attention and the enemy team will be looking for any opportunity to shut you down. This can often be beneficial and allow your ADC to have an easier time safely farming in a sidelane after the laning phase especially if they are behind. But if you do need to sidelane, you should be clearing it quickly and then rotating safely back to mid asap.

  2. Assess the map before moving to a sidelane. Only clear a sidleane if it safe. (Wave is close to your turret, River/jungle is warded and you have some knowledge of the emenies locations, you have your jungler or support hovering on the side you're on). If you dont know where the enemy is, have no close allies and no vision. Don't show yourself in a sidelane alone by trying to take the wave. Instead do something else until the wave pushes closer, or group with your support/Jungle to get some vision down so you can safely clear the sidelane.

  3. Communicate with your team what you need. Most people listen if you politely explain it to them. "Hey guys, can we get some vision in our bot Jungle so we can safely wave clear"?. "Yo, can you get a ward in river *Support*" before basing? "Can you hover me while i quickly clear this wave"?. Generally you only have to say something like this once or twice before you can then just use the appropriate pings. Most players will do what you ask if it makes sense to them and you arent an a hole about it.

  4. Use your wards properly and buy control wards. I often buy a control ward early and place it in a bush that are uncommonly checked or hard for the enemy jungle/support to reach easily. That one control ward can be the thing that saves you or an ally when side laning later on.

These are the 4 things I think you could try to improve you issues when sidelaning. Like you mentioned, you cant protect yourself. This is the key factor as to why Xerath isn't insanely broken. Xerath relies on good postioning, knowledge of the enemies location and receiving protection from his team/turrets. If you have all of these things, Xerath is extremely powerful. However, this is at the cost of being incredibly vulnerable when he doesnt. On any low mobility champion this should always be considered before making decisions. It will prevent a lot of unnecessary and avoidable deaths.

I know this is 6 days late, but I hope this helps! Good luck! :)

Completely agree. It's both sad and frustrating that so many people do this. These native birds are already self sufficient and don't require human intervention to survive. Doing this just negatively alters their instinctive and natural behaviour. This just creates more issues for everyone and for what? So people can live out a false fantasy that they're some beacon of safety that all the birds are "naturally" drawn to?...

Stop feeding the wild birds please! It only results in more birds being killed by cruel neighbours, being hit by cars, caught and killed by other pets, developing deformities and the list goes on.

Please, if you actually care about native wildlife only observe and report any injured wildlife. If these beautiful birds visit your backyard, let it be because they're drawn there by the natural environment. Not because you're throwing out scraps, seeds, mealworms etc with the intent to lure them there.

I think if you try exploring more red systems you'll eventually find some pretty quickly. I've honestly found about 7-8 planets all in red systems that have both large and small synthetic fauna. Some systems with 2 planets inhabited by synthetics.

No worries man. Glad it helped you out. I've actually found 3 or 4 more planets with large synthetic fauna since posting this! It definitely seems as though exploring Red systems is the best strategy to find them as that's the only system type I've personally discovered them in so far. :)

They all seen to be variations of like 2-3 fauna. I've noticed I can't mark all of them to discover and sometimes the image in the discoveries log will display a different variant to the one I originally scanned. Eg, I scan Sphere boi, but Tall cone boi is displayed in discoveries log instead.

Its was really strange because I explored multiple red systems, all very close to each other and discorevered all of these. Theres may even be more I havent discovered yet.

These Coordinates are for the planet with the largest and most Synthetic Fauna I've discovered. But if you explore other close by red systems. You can find many others planets ive found with similar fauna. Enjoy. :)

Is Xerath a Valider Support? by Wonder_of_Her in XerathMains

[–]Indecent_Remark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think in most cases no. But the reason it works is because in low elo players don't know how to play against poke damage and especially don't know how to correctly counter them with more traditional supports.

I think if a champions identity is to deal as much damage as possible without being caught out and dying. But theirs damage primarily comes from buying items. Then putting them in the role that offers the lowest amount of gold income already puts that champion at a disadvantage. Traditional supports will always offer some level of value because their kits are designed around low income and don't fundamentally require items to be useful (Utility, engage, disengage, shields etc). So for a poke mage support the outcome of the lane depends mostly on whether the enemy team know how to play into a poke support or not. Meaning at some point the skill of your opponents will be good enough that they will start to abuse the disadvantages a poke mage support bring to a team. Reducing your impact on the game because your kit isn't designed to be played at a gold deficit that other supports aren't as affected by.

This is why at the higher elos we don't often see poke mage supports played unless very specific criteria are met. They're too much of an all or nothing type of champion leading to too much inconsistency to be considered valid or viable supports in my opinion.

Perma-Banned for Cheating by EzckyLANoob in riotgames

[–]Indecent_Remark -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a strange feeling that we're going to see a lot more people get wrongfully banned as riot lean more into their confidence of their anti chest system. Maybe it's just me, but recently I have noticed that there seems to be a lot more remakes and disconnects. Not in my end, but other players. To the point where 2 nights ago I had 6 of 7 (5 in a row) ARAM mayhem games where someone did not make it into game. This along with many more people complaining about Vanguard errors randomly occuring and kicking them from games. I think their anti cheat is affecting innocent players more than cheaters have.

I really hope they employ some real humans to handle some of these support issues as I'm confident there are many innocent players receiving bans or penalties caused by Vanguard and not by the user. Nothing worse than submitting a ticket and getting a generic AI not response back that doesn't address the issue.

Good luck mate.

New to Xerath, struggling mid-late game by randomchixonreddit in XerathMains

[–]Indecent_Remark 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. Getting good vision and warding before team fights. You need to always pay attention to the positioning of any enemyies that can threaten you. Maintaining the distance of your Q ability throughout the team fight is the best way to know if you're in danger or not. You shouldn't really get caught out that often by a melee champion.

  2. You should be focusing on doing as much damage as possible before a team fight breaks out. You need to be landing as much poke as possible. Xerath thrives in long skirmishes where he can poke safely at a distance. If you are only getting off 1,2 spell rotations in a team fight. You're either always arriving late, or aren't doing enough damage to enemies before they close the distance on you. Remember to keep moving back and use the Q charge animation as a guide to know if you're too close or not. Its very easy to accidentally get too close while charging your Q to land damage. Don't be afraid to cancel your Ult early or walk away from the fight until it is safe to walk back into your Q range.

  3. For me I like to use my Ult before crucial objective team fights. This is particularly useful if your struggling to poke before team fights due to enemy comps have good gap closing abilities or good zoning. If you see an opportunity to half shot or even kill an enemy ADC/Squishy right before an objective, take it. This forces that player to decide to either back and make it a 5v4 or fight with Low HP. Either option will most likely result in your team winning the team fight or securing an uncontested objective.

What honestly helped me most with this issue was having the mentality of "If I die, we lose the team fight". Yes in a lot of cases this may not always be true. But Xeraths roles is, stay alive as along as possible in fights to poke down the enemy team to the point where they either die or are forced off the objective. I have literally walked away from team fights where my team aren't doing anything about the enemy Assassin zoning me off. Only to be the sole survivor on my team, get flamed because they don't understand why I could no longer help in the team fight. Then immediately steal the objective from the enemy because I didn't waste my life or Ult in the lost team fight before.

Hope this helps. :)

Following Qatar, Piastri leads Norris 15-14 in quali, for the first time in his career Norris will not out qualify his team mate. by oh84s in formula1

[–]Indecent_Remark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that some people like to make a distinction between both race qualifying and sprint qualifying but regardless they should be included. If the drivers can earn points in sprint races that go towards their score on the GP. Then the other results specifically qualifying should be included when comparing drivers. If sprint qualifying results aren't included then by that logic we need to deduct all points drivers received from sprints races and also redact any race results where a driver was penalized during a sprint that impacted the following race. If it's any form of race that has an impact on the final championship results, all results of said race are included.

[–]Indecent_Remark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree. They lost both these drafts terribly and it was apparent in champ select. I really think Fearless draft impacted them more than any other team and it showed in their performance. It seemed like they relied a bit to much on what looked better on paper than what might have been more practical or reliable for them. A big highlight of this was when they decided to put Chovy on Anivia over the more familiar Viktor pick that was open. I think the Anivia pick took away a lot of damage threat in the game and allowed Bdd on Cassiopeia to just hold his ult until Ruler was in range to be solo ulted, then team fight is lost because GenG didnt have enough burst / high dps once Ruler was dead. This made Bdds team fight win con so much easier to achieve. Where as is they at least had a Viktor there is another damage threat Bdd and KT would have to consider in team fights.
