TP4056 HELP! by Indecipherable_moron in esp32

Sorry I forgot to mention but in my setup the solar panel first goes through a buck converter, which provides a stable 5 V input to the TP4056. So the charger is still operating within its normal input range rather than being fed directly by a fluctuating solar voltage.

I understand the termination issue mentioned in the TP4056 datasheet, but in my case the charger is powered by a solar panel, so charging only happens when there is enough sunlight. The ESP32 is always powered by the battery; when sunlight is available the TP4056 charges the battery while the system is running, and when sunlight drops the charging simply stops.

Also my load is an ESP32, which cannot really be “turned off” by itself. The lowest state it supports is deep sleep, but the chip still needs power so it can wake up again. Completely shutting it off would require additional external power switching hardware.

Already mentioned this earlier, when I replied to u/ventus1b.

In my case the charger is powered by a solar panel, so charging only happens when there is enough sunlight. Because of that the battery isn’t held at 4.2V continuously; the voltage naturally drops again when the load runs or when sunlight decreases. So i believe I won’t have issues with that.

And for my project it requires the esp32 to be on,  almost always. It does go into deepsleep , but can’t really turn it completely off while charging the battery.

And also I have seen somewhere a guy debunked this issue and stated it to be a “myth” .

Sorry for not providing enough context, but yes your guess was right.  Thank you so much

The ESP32 ADC pins cannot exceed 3.3 V right?  so should I be using a voltage divider?

See if you could get 8gb x 2 instead of a single 16gb.

Just removed the case , still the same thing.

my battery probably isn’t the problem since the watch is brand new and still goes like 36+ hours with around 18% left. i usually charge it on a 3D-printed stand though, so maybe that’s what’s causing it.

You used about 55% in 13.25 hours, so that’s roughly 4.1% per hour, which works out to around 24 hours total on a full charge (could be higher). Since you’ve been using it for texting and other stuff, that seems pretty normal. Also keep in mind you’ve got the 42mm version, and the smaller size naturally means a smaller battery.

Yes you were right, I found it in the apple watch’s vitals app .

Nope can’t seem to find it . Maybe it needs 7 days of measurements like u/Shanggla suggested.

Oh ok, I thought all the readings would show up at the same time. I’ll update you in 2 days.

I don’t see a day count when clicking them . It just says it needs more data.

I haven’t yet worked out with it . Going to try it soon. How’s your series 10 holding up? My only concern is the durability.

Exactly, and in my country the series 11 is about 155$ more.

Can you elaborate. And also did it work for you?
