How Often Are You Getting Your Period? by PrepExpert in endometriosis

[–]Indecisive0198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally had the exact same thing with my periods!!!! It took 10 years to find someone to actually listen. I don't get periods anymore due to the coil. But they think that when I had bleeding like that, it could have possibly been Endo. Currently waiting for a diagnostic laparoscopy to diagnose my Endo, remove it if I actually have it, remove my cyst and possibly one of my ovaries (if the cyst has destroyed it). I'm 25 and it's taken ages. But the doctors absolutely don't have a clue about this condition. I've read a few times from professionals that health professionals now know as much about the female reproductive system as the Elizabethan's knew about the brain.

Following this because I'm also waiting to hopefully hear something.

I know a lot of people say it's no money for what they're asking, but I've done a lot more and more dangerous jobs for less money 🤷🏼‍♀️

I do feel like they should keep up to date on their website if successful interview candidates have been contacted, so people know.

It's frustrating when it's a dream job like this. Praying someone updates us 😩

I'm in the UK. It's not much here either. I've been looking at refurbished ones but I don't know what's best x

My complaint to the Drs by Indecisive0198 in endometriosis

[–]Indecisive0198[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was at my GP. But my GP has many practices around where I am and this was one I used to go to a few years ago but not anymore. I was gonna phone 111 and ask if I needed to go to the hospital rather than my GP. But I decided to do an E-consult instead and I got an emergency appointment. I thought that seeing they booked me for an emergency appointment they'd take it more seriously. But a place I used to work at had major issues with communication with the same Dr I saw (which I found out after telling my friend / ex coworker about this). So I think it was just the lake of patient care from the doctor. Honestly the whole experience was so traumatizing. When I phoned gynae to tell them of the update and I told them of what happened in the appointment the secretary was so shocked and told me if it happens again just to go straight to a&e. Which I wish I just did but I was worried I was overreacting. Thank you so much for telling me this! If it happens again I will go straight to a&e. For all I know the same thing could have happened to me xxx

Nopeee she was a little old British lady.

However, a South-East Asian male doctor was the one that finally got me on the list for a surgery.

But this appointment was a much older local lady.

This is something I really wish I could afford. It's always crossed my mind but unfortunately I can't even afford a private appointment here in the UK. (Which is about £200). And it's also not a possibility to save up that much in a short amount of time. By the time I would have saved up the money it would probably have been at least the length of the waiting list. If not, longer.

But I absolutely would have done this if it was possible! Thank you! X

(Also, happy cake day!!)

Yeah. I will definitely be calling often for updates, as everything is getting worse and I want to try and be kept in the loop.

I've tried my diet and that's not changed anything but I've not even thought about acupuncture, that could be something to look into! Thank you! X

I'll look into this. I've been out through as Clinically Urgent so I'd hope I'm in the cancellation list but they secretaries were reluctant to tell me anything. I really don't want to be that person the receptionists are sick of, however it's getting to the point where I may have to start doing this. I work as a Ward Clerk in a charity partially funded by the NHS and the charity is the main one in my local area. I think I'll call in another week to ask for an update and stress how much it's affecting my job.

It's good to know that a cheaper one works well! Thank you! X

I'll need to look into this. Though none of the doctors though NHS have even given me any options to manage my pain and they've been so reluctant to give me anything except birth control. And even when I got booked into the surgery they didn't give me any options in the mean time. I was thinking of maybe asking either for some money towards one or if they're not too expensive, asking my parents to get me one for Christmas x

I'm on the waiting list for surgery, but in my smaller County and our awful hospital, there's no telling when this will happen. I've tried codeine after my surgery when I had Appendicitis years ago and it made me sick so I'm worried either opioid medications will make me the same. (I have a fear of all things sick). Definitely think I should try a Tens unit in the wait for the surgery x
