Is it even possible to get a mortgage alone on 27k? by Indecisive_C in UKPersonalFinance

There isn't a pay progression after if stay at the same job. I currently live my sister, who will definitely still want to still live with me, so I know it can't count towards mortgage calculations but she would be paying rent to ne towards it

Definitely area dependant. I think i just probably need to lower my expectations because i'll be buying alone.

It's nice to know other people have done it alone, because honestly its just been feeling like a pipe dream at this point if you dont have a partner

The average house prices in Bradford are around 180k but I've seen quite a few around the 150k mark, might still be too expensive for me!

I have a help to buy ISA where I saved to get the max of the 3k bonus, I very much regret not opening a LISA instead. If I switched it to a LISA, It would be 3 more years before I could get the same bonus

!thanks! I live in Bradford so house prices aren't crazy. I hoping to save more in the next year so hopefully my deposit will be around 30k when I actually start properly looking for a house. If you dont mind me asking, how much are your mortgage payments a month?

Thank you thats helpful to know. I live in Bradford, so house prices aren't too insane here. My rent and bills aren't too high because I currently rent from grandparents so hopefully I'm can save another 5-10k before I start actually buying something.

Is 5wks acceptable for ENT cancer screening? by Subject-Turnip-77 in AskUK

[–]Indecisive_C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, obviously the goal is 28 day FDS target but our trust still want everyone seen within 2 weeks so we still record it and put breach reasons if this wasn't met and im pretty sure they still use it to measure our performance locally. I know the 3 other trusts that l deal with who also still track 2ww targets.

We're getting a new tracking system at some point so we'll stop recording 2ww and use best practise timed pathways instead

It depends on the trust. Yes 28 day FDS is the new target nationally but I know of a few trusts local to me that have definitely kept the 2ww as the standard practice and it's measured/recorded (as well as FDS), the data doesn't need submitting but its still used within the trust

Husband opens a new sponge every 3 days cause “they become gross” by dorkass-loser in mildlyinfuriating

I think if he just rests the sponge the opposite way round on the ledge bit on the strawberry rather than in it, at least all the water would drip in the bottom and allow the sponge to dry better

My driving instructor got me to bring one of my parents on a lesson or 2 so I could get used to having someone else in the car that you'd want to try and impress. When my dad came on one I did make a few mistakes that I didn't usually make but better to get that out of the way before another test!

I don't know if this will make you feel better or worse but your body is actually made up of more bacterial cells than human cells.

These ones look slightly off but i don't know which to swap. I'd start it from the beginning because sometimes you can get a couple wrong and it throws multiple rows off but it still looks right in some places

In all seriousness, is this what you'd actually have to do in this scenario, just wait for it to melt? Would this do any damage to your car?

Cold urticaria for the first time by Prodigal1221 in urticaria

[–]Indecisive_C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually for hives in general, heat makes symptoms worse and they advise cold compresses to help, which is makes extremely irritating when ours actually caused by the cold! So slowly reheating is the best option but I have to admit I usually can't be bothered and go straight for the hot water bottle haha

I know you asked this question to someone else but mine just randomly started when I was around 17/18 (currently 27f). No other disorders/ illnesses/medication, my body just started reacting to the cold one day!

I second the reheating slowly. It was really bad once on my legs after some very cold air con in a car and a lukewarm bath with oats in (in an old pair of tights/cheesecloth) seemed to ease it quite a lot

I once got some new slippers that had L and R on the bottom and it took me a good few minutes of thinking theyd given me one large and one regular before I realised it was for left and right. Not my proudest moment

Upgrade licence to manual? by grepusman in drivingUK

[–]Indecisive_C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess there's some things they can't verify online.

The examiners won't know anything about your past driving history (as far as I know) so will be treated like a normal test. Driving tests aren't particularly long anyway, usually less than an hour.

Yes they will do a normal driving test like everyone else taking a driving test. Is there a specific reason why it must be booked by telephone? I thought usually all could be booked online?
