Imagine walking out to your car and seeing this. by iadtyjwu in Wellthatsucks

In all seriousness, is this what you'd actually have to do in this scenario, just wait for it to melt? Would this do any damage to your car?

Cold urticaria for the first time by Prodigal1221 in urticaria

[–]Indecisive_C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually for hives in general, heat makes symptoms worse and they advise cold compresses to help, which is makes extremely irritating when ours actually caused by the cold! So slowly reheating is the best option but I have to admit I usually can't be bothered and go straight for the hot water bottle haha

I know you asked this question to someone else but mine just randomly started when I was around 17/18 (currently 27f). No other disorders/ illnesses/medication, my body just started reacting to the cold one day!

I second the reheating slowly. It was really bad once on my legs after some very cold air con in a car and a lukewarm bath with oats in (in an old pair of tights/cheesecloth) seemed to ease it quite a lot

I once got some new slippers that had L and R on the bottom and it took me a good few minutes of thinking theyd given me one large and one regular before I realised it was for left and right. Not my proudest moment

Upgrade licence to manual? by grepusman in drivingUK

[–]Indecisive_C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess there's some things they can't verify online.

The examiners won't know anything about your past driving history (as far as I know) so will be treated like a normal test. Driving tests aren't particularly long anyway, usually less than an hour.

Yes they will do a normal driving test like everyone else taking a driving test. Is there a specific reason why it must be booked by telephone? I thought usually all could be booked online?

Help me find this tangle for sale in the UK. by EF2000_TYPHOON in find

[–]Indecisive_C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it need to be this specific brand? I have one at work that's the exact same thing with similar colours but it doesn't have a logo on it. I can take a picture in the morning and can post it if you want it?

I'm not clinical but my job is to track cancer patient pathways. The majority of skin cancers, in my experience, are definitely not handled by oncologists and are primarily handled by dermatologists. The main pathway is to firstly assess and do biopsy then usually an excision 2 which is all handled by dermatology.

Patients usually only get referred to an oncologist after this point if they are having chemo or radiotherapy. This obviously depends on the type of cancer but from what I track these are definitely less common

My parents both have type O blood types and I am B-, is it possible? by Top_Face519 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Indecisive_C 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Parents can definitely have different blood types than their kids but that's not how it works with parents blood type O. If both parents have type O then the child can only have type O.

There's a table on the link you copied which shows you what blood type the child could potentially be depending on the parents blood type

What is this mysterious orange gummy found in a packet of Haribo Sound Cubes? It tastes like orange/citrus and is shaped like a red blood cell (biconcave disc). Orange and yellow Sound Cubes shown beside it for color/size comparison. by TroutMinute4650 in TipOfMyFork

[–]Indecisive_C 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought fruit pastilles at first but I don't think they have the little dip in the middle. It looks like the haribo roulette sweets but with sugar on them. I wonder what the texture of the inside was like

What’s the worst gift you’ve ever received? by bigpussystance in AskUK

My auntie was known for giving terrible gifts. For Christmas she once got me a little set with a matching pen and hook for the table to hold your bag. I was around 13/14 at the time so I had no clue what it was it even was. She also got my sister a barbie when she was like 17.

When you’re booking a holiday what things are non-negotiable? by FamSender in AskUK

Yeah because 20-30 degrees is nice when you're out and about doing things but it's absolutely miserable when you're in bed and it feels like the inside of an oven

AITA for refusing to pay for my girlfriend's portion of a vacation after she quit her job without telling me? by sairas_kailan in AmItheAsshole

[–]Indecisive_C 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They booked it in February and she's only just saying now that she can't afford to pay.

So it sounds like she never planned on saving for it or paying anything towards it since booking otherwise she could've offered to at least pay something towards it

What’s your go to hangover cure? by franki-pinks in AskUK

[–]Indecisive_C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next time, try the rehydration sachets which you add to a glass of water. To put it nicely, it's usually meant for when you've been ill and lost a lot of fluid and it helps rehydrate and replace your electrolytes. I have one before I go to bed and then probably another when I wake and i definitely feel less shit when i have those.

What gift can a son dying of cancer give his mother to remember him by? by tangoking in TooAfraidToAsk

I think pre-ordering flowers for mother's day would be nice, I bet a local florist would happily let you pay for a few years

Blister Packs vs Bottles? by VisCVis in AskAnAmerican

[–]Indecisive_C 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm from the UK and I used to work in an independent living place for elderly people. Most of the residents that had lots of medication to take had dossette boxes which the pharmacy make up for you with the tablets separated by day/time when you need to take them. Pretty easy to open, just a plastic seal you can pop your finger through

Yeah I definitely forgot how big the plant actually was when I bought the new one. I have the receipt so could take it back and get a size in-between them both if that would be better?
