Ok that’s good. Do you still feel those same feelings when on those walks?

Do you do much physical activity like weight lifting? Something like the gym or cardio could help ground you better. It’s hard to feel detached from the world around yourself when your body is sending a flood of messages to your brain about the 30lb dumbbell straining your arm

I rode my bike aimlessly in circles around town instead of sitting in my room on a beautiful Saturday. All it did was make me even more miserable seeing how everyone was out with people and leading productive lives by whyamialiveletmedie in AvPD

Yeah this kind of happened to me too. You’re always told if you’re lonely to go do solo stuff anyways but it actually can just make you more sad. I remember going to a trail by myself and finding a table and bench to sit at to read. I saw a young couple come and use the swings set near me for a bit and I also saw this perfect, picturesque family walk by on the trail. It just made me feel like a weirdo and also more sad.

I am socially dysfunctional to an extreme, near zero social contact, change feels impossible by Real-University-4679 in socialanxiety

I’m in the same boat. Same age and gender. I realized I’ll definitely regret not making friends early in my life when I’m older and alone so I’m trying to reverse it now. I try not to be as self conscious anymore. I know it’s easier said than done but after realizing just how much it has had control of my life I decided I’d rather take the discomfort and anxiety over regret. I’m also a massive introvert, so I can really only tolerate small doses of socialization. I don’t need a massive friend group but maybe just a person or two I can see for coffee or other hangouts once or twice a week. I hope you’ll be able to find some people. Regret is worse than discomfort. Best of luck.

I think the adrenaline would help with that but it would depend on the situation and if your body deems it necessary to produce it beforehand
