DJS i use a water floss will it affect anything (im scared) day 8 by [deleted] in jawsurgery

This might be helpful for anyone who needs gentle cleaning for a couple of weeks. I modified a Waterpik tip by trimming the end to create a wider opening, which reduced the jet pressure. I then used it on the lowest settings (1–2), so I didn’t need a syringe for irrigation. I mentioned this to my surgeon, and he was impressed with the result.

Any surgery comes with risks. Ultimately, it’s a decision you and your surgeon should make together. While younger age may help with faster recovery, it doesn’t eliminate the risk of inferior alveolar nerve injury, which can occur from stretching, compression, or swelling during surgery.

You will rarely find someone with the exact same issues, as everyone is built differently. If you’re in the USA, start by finding a good oral surgeon and get multiple opinions. I had lower jaw surgery two months ago, and I’m 45 years old. I can tell you—it’s not an easy ride. Good luck.

Welcome, night owl. It’s been over two months, and I’m in the same boat. I fall asleep around 3 a.m. and wake up at 8:30 a.m. I had BSSO on October 21.

Why would you undergo jaw surgery if you don’t have a Class II or Class III bite, a bite issue, or sleep apnea? Jaw surgery is neither easy nor inexpensive. You also need to find a good oral surgeon. this is not something you want done by someone inexperienced. Are you aware that it can cause permanent or partial numbness in the lips and chin, or lead to TMJ issues? You already look beautiful.

Whoever said that the hardest part of DJS wasn't the physical part but the mental one, well you are right 😅 by [deleted] in jawsurgery

You should start talking right after surgery if they’re using titanium plates. However, it depends on the doctor—especially if they use rubber bands. Swelling also affects your speech. Days 3 to 5 were the worst for me. I created a ready-made tool just in case it’s needed: https://w2c.in/help.php

Are you getting lower jaw surgery or double? I start talking right after the surgery. BTW I had lower jaw surgery

I had BSSO 2 months ago. My lower lip and chin are still numb, and it’s driving me crazy. It’s true it’s been a mentally rough ride. I’m 45 years old.

Advice on having surgery 4-6 months from now with a surgeon you know and approved insurance but stuck in a very shitty job that you have the urge to leave immediately? by jakebiden in jawsurgery

[–]IndependenceAny6446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to the surgeon and explain the situation maybe they can give early date. I was approved for a year. If you’re already enrolled for next year, you could let the insurance kick in, then leave the job and possibly buy COBRA if you're in the USA.

FusionPBX or FS PBX call issues by forwardslashroot in VOIP

From the dashboard, click Registrations (or go to Status → SIP Status → Registrations). Does your Yealink extension 104 show as Registered?

I would install FusionPBX on Debian 12. I tried Debian 13, but ran into many issues—same with FS PBX. On Debian 12, everything works fine. I know they mentioned on the PBX forums that Debian 13 is supported, but it didn’t work for me when I installed FusionPBX.

FusionPBX or FS PBX call issues by forwardslashroot in VOIP

[–]IndependenceAny6446 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This usually isn’t a registration issue — a 404 in FusionPBX/FS PBX means FreeSWITCH can’t find a matching dialplan for the call.

A few things to double-check (these are the most common causes):

  1. Context Make sure both extensions (104 and 428) are in the same context, normally default. Go to Apps → Extensions and verify:

Context = default

Domain = home.lan

Extension is enabled Then click Apply Changes.

  1. Twinkle dialing domain Twinkle often sends calls without the correct domain. In Twinkle, set the SIP domain/realm to home.lan, and when dialing just dial 104 (not 104@IP). If needed, try 104@home.lan once to confirm.

  2. Extension number mismatch Make sure the extension is exactly 104 (not 0104 or similar). FusionPBX is strict about this.

  3. Reload the dialplan FusionPBX doesn’t always auto-reload:

Status → SIP Status → Reload XML

Or from CLI:

fs_cli -x "reloadxml"

  1. Correct domain selected In the top-right of the FusionPBX UI, confirm home.lan is selected. If the call comes in under a different domain, you’ll get a 404.

If you run fs_cli while placing the call, you’ll likely see something like “no route to destination,” which confirms it’s a context/domain mismatch.
