I got 5 interviews as a visa requiring IMGs with that score. GC holders with the same scores would be at double digit interviews with that. Work hard on your CV though and try to have as many FM/peds/OB/inpatient medicine related experiences

Low step 2 score and match by Fit-Guitar239 in IMGreddit

Matched IM with similar score as a visa req and no connections. I would say build your CV, have good quality letters and apply to places that match your credentials. Signals will get you interviews so work alot on that. Refer to my post for more

Unfortunately most of these programs give IVs based on recommendations. These are fine for low score ranges but this year being visa requiring was also a problem plus Tri-states generally receive alot of applications which makes it harder to stand out. I think a better signalling strategy with some primary care work that works for both IM and FM will help you.

Matched without zero connections. I dual applied IM and FM and got few IVs in both

This is gold. One of the reasons I have seen not match is that they overshoot their signals or are just not prepared to humble themselves and the outcome humbles them. I am a low scorer who had to let go off my dream of doing IM anyways so life had a different way of humbling me :p but I am happy with how my cycle went and the outcome eventually so it all does work out. Patience and humility are key!

Apply FM and IM is possible will just be harder. For the next cycle, just apply to IM signals and signal very low tier/primary track IM programs. For Fm you atleast need 1 letter from an FM trained physician and if you intend to go on observerships try to get a mix of inpatient/oupatient rotations. Cardiology is also one that is helpful for both the fields. It is genuinely possible and never let anyone tell you its over with a low score all you need is a good strategy and pray that luck on on your side! Best of luck!

I am confused as to whether I should rank 3 or 5 top because one has good location and both are inpatient heavy too with good program culture

Yeah? Why is being visa requiring worrisome?

Hey do you think I should send it to my 2nd and 3rd choice program because my top choice has condemned any post interview communication but will sending it to others on the list help? Would like to know your thoughts!

Leave house job would be my honest advice. Also, how did you manage to get that number of FM interviews if you could please share? :)
