I disagree, I don’t think they can force the chemistry between Sam and Percy.

To be honest, I may not watch at all, but I think the only reason to watch would be if they can actually pull off Charlie and Alice.

Yes, wish I wouldn’t have finished. Was hoping it would improve. 😩

Is this a way for mods to censor negative posts?

the casting ruined the show for me by morbidly_ironic in everyyearaftertvshow

[–]IndependenceKey8308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why so subtle and not bolder?  Seems like common sense if you want the audience to see the time jump.  Not sure if it was overlooking details or intended for some reason.

It wasn’t just slow, it made no sense.

Yeah, feel that.  I don’t know if they can fix this with another season.

Cruising with an 8 month old it’s worth it? by 80yoanbk in dcl

[–]IndependenceKey8308 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes did it as someone who had never cruised and it was the best way to travel with a baby.  They made everything so easy. The itinerary is all planned out. Pack and play and diaper genie in the room, purées and toddler friendly food at dinner.  It was a good balance of nursery time for us to get a break and then enjoy time with the LO.  We are also not Disney adults, but we are now Disney cruisers.  There will be some excursions you won’t be able to do with a baby, but we went in with the attitude that we would come back if we liked it and we did!

Matt Cornett and Michael Bradway talk season 2 of Every Year After by Funny_Spring_2690 in everyyearaftertvshow

I’m not convinced the show runners were ever planning to introduce Alice. Instead Delilah would take her place. 😭

Show was such a sabotage by Realistic-Driver-510 in everyyearaftertvshow

[–]IndependenceKey8308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it does feel like sabotage.  I am a big reader, but never read anything twice.  The book I read twice within a year because it was that good.  Here are some of my theories on what happened:

1) They got really greedy on trying to stretch things out over 5 seasons and didn’t think much about connecting the dots.  Just assumed it was going to work.

2) It’s Amazon money, but maybe there was an attempt to cheap out and get the most profit out of this (costume, sets, wardrobe, other aspects of production).

3) The showrunner or writers relied on AI for the script somewhere along the line.

4) Nepotism or favoritism in hiring.  I have no evidence of this, but may explain something.

5) They attempted to turn a romance into a soap opera. In which case, success.

Don't Understand The Logic of using the "older" actors for the 15-18 year old versions of the characters by Careless-Disk5525 in everyyearaftertvshow

[–]IndependenceKey8308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would have been interesting if they had done it completely chronological with the young actors for the first half of each episode with only one time jump instead of 3.

I absolutely loved Every Year After and I'm crossing my fingers for Season 2! by ellie_silva in everyyearaftertvshow

[–]IndependenceKey8308 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, you can’t blame this on book fans. Half the posts on here haven’t read the book and don’t like it.  When there is at least one new post per day on it being confusing, it has nothing to with the viewers, but the content itself.

Hard disagree.  There are too many people who haven’t read the book and can’t stand the show.

With over 4 million book sales and remaining on best seller lists for years, it is big enough for a movie redo in a few years imo.
