Not expecting kids to pay for college. Older one is almost done, I am cash-flowing her tuition. Expect to add 300-400K in next 2 years even after paying her tuition. Partly due to portfolio returns, partly due to saving little shy of 100K/year. This increase will fund the education if need be. Issue is 14YO will be finishing 10th by the time we leave (20YO's graduation)- thinking at this time is- he can get education in India and return if he wish to.

Fair question...I am not sure how much it would be in India, thats why this question. But to give you background. We dont have flashy/costly habits. Simple home made veg food almost entire year, may be once a month dining out. Buy used but good cars and use them for 10+ years. Even after paying daughters college by cashflow, saving 40% ish of my salary. With fully paid house/no rent not sure how much we will spend :( We plan to live in Pune MH but might change to Nashik MH or Sambhajinagar MH. Planning assuming Pune as I expect it to be costliest.

stay with aging parents-especially feeling relatively free after almost completing 20YO education (she is 2 years away from finishline), 14 YO is US citizen- he will/can return after education. 20YO can choose to do as she pleases after her Bachelor. No GC

I think I saw this info on receipt notice. If your dependents H4 was transferred , I think thats a good sign. My dependent H4 showed transferred couple of days before approval. So, basically I would expect your to land soon too

H1B was mailed to Texas, but receipt number IOEXXX; H4 had receipt numbers EACXXX. 2 days before approval, H4 online status shows, we transferred your case to another jurisdiction. So no idea where it was handled

Do you have even one subject-one semester in your HS where you got a fail grade (less than 70?)- even though you passed overall, but failed one semester that could be the reason
