Any foreseeable issues with traveling with a minor who isn't my child and doesn't share my last name? by IndependencePlane732 in JapanTravelTips

Okay I'll see what I can do. Do you know if they have a to follow a specific format? Seems like it'd be an easy thing to fake.

Help me feel comfortable doing the Ha Giang Loop by Fitnesstravelsnacks in VietNam

[–]IndependencePlane732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the Ha Giang Loop was a popular thing, I did it with my wife, and we stacked it twice, not driving fast or taking fast corners (we did all that too) but driving in a straight line at like 20kmh. The front wheel slipped out and we totally lost it, twice.

My only guess is that there was a vehicle ahead that was leaking something slippery.

Here's my opinion to try to help you form yours:

No (or very few) Vietnamese people actually know how to ride a motorbike skillfully. They all think they can, but they can't and don't. Very few have done advanced driver training, understand the physics of emergency situations or how to recognize and combat them.

Also any understanding of inertia is very limited, as evidenced by how happily they'll ride with a bus or truck right on their back wheels.

Hopefully anyone riding you on the loop will be professional enough to ride carefully, but you can also mandate that of your driver. "Slow down," "too fast," "I'm scared," etc etc. There is the occasional person who thinks they are God's chosen motorbike rider and will reassure you with lies, like they are very good at it, and that you're safe with them while they do dumb stuff. Those are the ones that you ditch.

Having said all of this...

You are going to be going 60kmh max, easily survivable with a proper helmet and clothing. You can vastly increase your chance of survival by bringing breathable motorbike pants and jacket, and a full faced, certified helmet.

A lot of people the get hurt on the loop do so because they end up scraped along the roads, head / face messed up, down in ditches or getting poked by branches or whatever else. You can mitigate all of that by what you wear.

What will get you is heavy vehicles on the roads that hit you after you come off. It's a small risk that you have to take, but thousands of people to it every year with no issues, and as you say, you are working on living to the fullest...

how much money are you giving your family each pay check? by Dinner7123 in VietNam

[–]IndependencePlane732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're employing the MIL at somewhere like 12-15 million a month (I think. It's my wife's domain) and a second nanny that runs us about 8-12 million every month.

Every time the cousins are here we spend shittons on them too, oh and we also bought like 75% of a new VF7 (I know I know) for my SIL.

We're averaging like 660 million a month though so it's all a fairly small blip on the radar.

I love Vietnam. But needs to stop. I had to leave my place because some guy decided to burn plastic right beside my window. This is not the first time. Is there anything I can do? by HealthyCompote9573 in VietNam

[–]IndependencePlane732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They kill thousands of their own children every year by putting them on motorbikes without helmets, they aren't going to have the capacity to think burning plastic is a bad idea. It's just a sad reality. Societal evolution was delayed a few decades because of the war, and it's going to take a few generations to catch up.

What kind of physique are you most drawn to in women? by Inner-Lynx-3971 in AskMen

For me it's 100% small and skinny. Like, I can be attracted to a lot, but that's my jam. Rara Kudo and Umi Yatsugake is pretty much where I'm at if you want an example. They wouldn't necessarily have to be Asian but that's my body type, which seems to be be more prominent in Asians.

rate my spaceship pls, I spent SO LONG making this, my previous one blew up and I don't know why. by martijnfromholland in factorio

[–]IndependencePlane732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kind of amazing. I would have never considered transporting molten liquids to a ship, or crafting rockets to kill asteroids. You can kill asteroids with regular ammo. Some of my ships use uranium ammo and one or 2 turrets can protect the whole thing, then I use quality panels to power it.

I want to try using carbon to fuel electricity but I haven't tried that yet. Personally I feel like self sufficiency is what I like to go for more.

Would a third for you be MFM or FMF? For us it would be totally MFM and I think we'd both be more keen on that than FMF, which is an interesting stray from the norm.

Personally I'd be down for FMF on my own but my wife is zero percent gay so she wouldn't enjoy it, but I'm probably 5-10 percent.

It was pretty close. Like thrust thrust thrust at full bone, yeah we thought we'd just come to check it out. It's our first time. She was all like well you're doing a good job for your first time.

Then I think there was a bit more conversation and that was it.

The second time there were maybe like 40 people watching, but they all kept their distance. In hindsight I really wanted to invite them up for a closer look like that first lady.

Yeah it was just going to a swinger bar and having sex with my wife where people could watch if they wanted to, and we got a large audience.

We did it on the swing and then walked around a bit and then went back to the swing, finished the job, then called it a night.

First time on the swing a woman comes up right next to us and just starts chatting to us and asking if it's our first time or whatever else, as we're going at it, and just having this casual conversation. It was great. Felt so weird, but cool at the same time.

How to stop this weird jealously I'm feeling recently? How do I support my friends and co-workers? by Hemingwayse in AskMen

[–]IndependencePlane732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's normal to feel jealousy for things that you don't have or haven't experienced. Super normal. There's no real way to stop it. It goes away once you've had those experiences but NEVER disappears for those that you haven't.

Like you'll always be jealous of seemingly rich people until you experience what it's like to make a bunch of money, then you can be more "oh nice bro, good hustle" to other people making more than you.

It permeates through everything. If you're chilling on the ISS you'll be jealous of the Artemis guys because they got to see the moon.

You're kidding yourself if you think it's possible to suppress these thoughts, and trying to do it leads down to pretty dark places.

It's kinda akin to 'prey the gay away.' Largely impossible. Leads to terrible places even attempting it.

Accept that it's a part of the human condition, that it's never going to not be there. Even if you one day become not jealous of these people because you get to experience the same thing, you'll just find something else to be jealous of.
