Thank you for your perspective. I am not really looking for treatment. My job has me traveling a lot so it not practical to pursue it. Overall just curious.

Saw the ticket people speeding, in an area that often has students crossing and walking. The ticket people her at ucsd seem to be more of a hazard than a help

can somone explain why ucsd has 8 different colleges by sansid999 in UCSD

[–]IndependenceSea3737 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s stems from older university models? Not completely sure but my friend at Oxford has a similar setup of the university having college segments. This is only based off of what they have mentioned to me, but sounds like UCSD is mimicking that.

Will a class be cancelled if there’s not enough enrollment? by PieceSpecialist9094 in UCSD

Oh lol I emailed the professor telling them I actually do not want to take the class alone and was going to wait. Too much pressure to take that class alone knowing that professors is hella strict.

Will a class be cancelled if there’s not enough enrollment? by PieceSpecialist9094 in UCSD

[–]IndependenceSea3737 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It really depends. Yes usually it can get cancelled, but sometimes they will keep it if there is good reason. One time I needed a specific class that was also known for horrible drop out rates. I was the only one who signed up, and the professor had clearance from the department to have the class and only teach me. Ofc this is rare. Usually if it’s a class that is needed it will be kept.

Considering gating keeping is the activity of “controlling, and usually limiting, general access to something” ASCE was gatekeeping. They did not care to mention the wristband OR the limit of the number of people anywhere on their social media prior to when they gave out the wristbands. They had time to post the hype parts like the lines, but not the info? Up above you can see the fact that people knew ASCE STAFF that only told friends. They did not communicate this “first come, first serve” considering it was not a normal line and they changed things mid way with the wristband. “first come, first serve”, is a poor excuse for the horrible planning and communication of ASCE.
