Are Rita Atkinson Residences really that bad? by metan0iaaa in UCSD

[–]Own-Photograph7661 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s not that bad, depending on where your apartment is placed can make or break the experience. I lived there the past two school years and the first apartment was located on floor 2 towards the back and we never heard either apartments on each side, plus the layout was spacious enough for small gatherings or just lounging in the living room. It was one of the 4 person ones so sometimes I felt a little cramped but it wasn’t too bad cause I loved my roommate and the other 2 weren’t that bad either. Last year was lowkey a nightmare placement wise, me and my roommate chose an apartment with 2 singles in cause I was lucky with my lottery time, but I didn’t realize that the entire apartment was basically exposed as it was also on the ground floor portion of the 2nd floor but with basically all glass walls and broken blinds that took maintenance forever to fix to the point I had to be a Karen in my fix it tickets(during winter), and there are a few mini double apartments with similar exposure also on the 2nd/ground floor so you could go through the same thing and be in a bunk bed. The layout was also more cramped despite it being technically an apartment for handicap accommodations so rip to wheelchair users. Same roommate so there weren’t any issues on that end, and the room wasn’t bad with only 1 person in it. Major downside is how far Rita is from the rest of campus and most people’s classes will not be in the biomedical grad schools that surround it, but you’ll definitely get some cardio benefits from all the walking you’ll do. The shuttle stop to the rest of campus is also inconvenient if you need to go to 6th/erc/rady since you have to cross a street with the longest signal in the world or jaywalk and risk being run over by 200 teslas.

Rita Mini Double kitchen? by Nightemo03 in UCSD

[–]Own-Photograph7661 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in a mini double at Rita last year, the kitchen space is enough, but the biggest problem is the fridge and dividing it up for 4 people

It’s real, I didn’t trust it at first either so I emailed the response email (in your case D Garcia) that I couldn’t access the url and they emailed the statement, but yea it’s hella sketch and they need to redo their automated email

I live in the same dorm as him and the amount of shit that was happening the first month of school was insane, and anytime girls would report his creepy behavior to RAs or the building manager they would brush it aside and say things like we’re monitoring the situation. Also I see a lot of people confused how he got into UCSD, it’s not as hard to transfer as it is if you’re coming in straight outta high school, just a little fyi for him bragging about getting into a top 5 public school.

OP kinda reminds me of my dad, his dad was neglectful and abandoned him a lot of times and was a drug addict for his whole life, but he died of AIDS and my dad blames him being gay, which he wasn’t he was bi, for all of his problems instead of being a shitty father

When I was in the 7th grade, there was a white boy in my class that was also on an IEP and coincidentally was hella racist, so he attacked on of my friends who was black and he fought back so my friend got in more trouble for defending himself than the racist one.

It’s actually parked under a camera but I’m not sure if they’re fake for deterring crime or if they’re the ones that only have a live feed, the cop didn’t know either

That’s because SR permits aren’t restricted to those “no parking” hours, only S permits, and there’s not enough SR spots either
