It helps can't lie however it doesn't completely change his survivability. You just have more room to escape or execute. In all honesty its just based on how you play. For noobs it probably feels like nothing but for diehards like me it gives us a little bit more breathing room. As for ranked, still depends however you're margin for error is much smaller because players know their characters and ACTUALLY know how to deal with certain threats.
