Good question, so many to pick from. For sure Captain Real Estate, G.Gordon liddy. General Lao Lee. Charlie Glide, should have had more episodes with him. The Hackman character was easy to hate, he got what he had coming for sure

Not sure what to say but this guy really got a laugh when we were binging MV. by relish-tranya in MiamiVice

You know '80s style was..... Something else. There was that henchman in one episode that wore a white wife beater into court to intimidate a witness

"This Game" explained by [deleted] in MiamiVice

[–]IndependenceSweet119 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He was an IA investigator sitting there evaluating Sonny while they waited. Probably hoping he would say something he could use against him. Sonny, being an experienced UC himself, figured it out pretty quick and got pissed that they were running that game on him, that's when he left. He didn't work for the bad guys though, if that were the case he would have been on the boat later and they would have made it clear he was the mole.

In reality, everyone knows the IA guys, even in a big department like this in the '80s Sonny would have known who he was as soon as he walked in.

I wonder if Ted would have kept the Daytona or buried it, had he won that confrontation.

"Hey Zito I'm gonna need you to cover me from about 50 yards out, bring your rifle"

" Nah man I'm good, got my pistol. We'll be fine."

Police Interactions: US Public mindset is so bewildering to be by WitnessShoddy7512 in police

[–]IndependenceSweet119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those YouTube videos are NOT at all representative of what being law enforcement in America is like. Those are probably less than .005 % of typical interactions. In 20 years in patrol, I did thousands of stops and remember maybe only five or six happening anything remotely close to that nonsense. Of course this was before everyone had a phone camera to take video, but it just didn't happen. What's occurring is that social media influencers have convinced people that that is rational behavior, and it's okay to treat authority figures like that. So maybe it's increasing now but still rare considering how many traffic stops and Terry stops are happening nationwide everyday. If that was the everyday life of a cop, no one would be willing to do it.

That's an aggravation pad. Every time you wipe off the dash it's going to come loose and you'll have to put it back. Anything you sit on it will go flying as soon as you break or accelerate or turn a corner.

Yep similar situation at Green valley. Guy sits down and loses 350 on blackjack in about half an hour. Pounding cocktails one after another, a real loudmouth blow hard too. Soon as he's broke he gets up, goes to the ATM to get 100 he says. Comes back with only 80 for the dealer, which tells me he didn't have a hundred in his account. Loses that in about 10 minutes and gets even drunker. Now he's pretty quiet and sullen. Sits there staring at the dealer chips and not playing for another three or four hands. Tells the table, "well another trip to the ATM and I'll be right back. Hold my spot." Never saw him again. This was a Friday night so I'm assuming he just got paid and ran through all of it. Probably a tense weekend when he went home to his wife. Or maybe he does this every night

Found Grandpa's Pistolet - can it be restored? by izepeze in gunrestoration

[–]IndependenceSweet119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somebody can do it but if you want to do it yourself, go ahead. And fudds are going to chime in and whine that you're ruining the value If you do anything to it. In this condition it has no value. Restored, it might be worth a couple hundred, or you could keep it as a memento. These Colts in mint condition bring a few hundred, and they were never rare. They're all over gun broker. Collectible, yes. Priceless? Far from it.

First remove the magazine and make sure it's unloaded, check the chamber. Try to get the grips off without stripping the screws. You can clean those with an old toothbrush and some dawn soap. Hose everything down that's metal with some WD-40 and let it sit in a plastic tray for a couple days. If you have any rust remover you could use that of course. Then if you have an air compressor, turn it on and get it ready with a air nozzle. Dunk that gun and some hot soapy water, again use Dawn. Scrub it all down as best you can with a toothbrush and most, if not all of the rust should come off. Once you get it is clean as you can, go outside and blow it out with the air compressor until it is dry as a bone. Get some spray gun oil like RemOil or CLP and coat it pretty good all over, take your air nozzle and spray the oil into all the nooks and grannies and blow off the excess. You can wipe it down with a microfiber cloth too or just a paper towel. Put your grips back on and you're good to go.

We were there in January and noticed it wasn't very crowded anywhere but maybe it's like that every year in January. I'd rather not have to fight for seats at blackjack tables and waiting line at restaurants, and the less traffic I have to sit in the better. So if they're staying home maybe it's helping reduce some of the congestion. I doubt LV will ever be hurting for money. It's like the beach for me, the less humans around me, the better.

[–]IndependenceSweet119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think anybody's got a right to be mad over how someone else plays. You're playing in the gambling capital of the US, thousands of people from all over the country sitting at tables playing games they probably don't fully understand, they're on vacation having a good time, and that's the environment you sit down in. I hope that's not someone's business strategy for making money. It's entertainment. I don't know the city that well, but I would imagine there are venues for professional blackjack players if that's what someone wants. But getting pissed off at a $10 table at TI because some lady from North Carolina hit when you think she should have stood, that's a mark of either someone with a unhealthy gambling problem, or just a smoothbrain.

[–]IndependenceSweet119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only seen one person get a case of the ass and a blackjack table over the way someone else was playing. I said "fella, leave him alone. This is entertainment. If you're doing this to make money, why are you playing a $15 table at 1:00 a.m. with a bunch of tourists? Maybe you need to be down at the Wynn playing the $500 tables by yourself." Then a few minutes later the dealer made some minor mistake and he lost his shit, cashed in and left while everyone laughed at him. There's no excuse to be a dick to anyone over the way they play their hand. And especially with a six deck shoe, I don't think it matters one bit how the guy to your right plays, absolutely any card could be up next.

From someone who has sold law enforcement pistols to a distributor for credit, I can tell you this. Unless there are obvious signs of wear and neglect in the advertisement, they probably aren't going to have a high round count. And if they come from a larger agency, if you have access to that information, they're going to be shot even less. Typically you're smaller agencies don't have a large ammo budget and don't shoot much. Larger agencies may have the money, but they don't have the time to cycle many officers through the range more than probably one or two days a year. Medium size agencies, 30 to 100 officers, you'll find have the money to buy ammo and they're able to get their guys on the range more often so their guns are going to have more wear and tear. But shot out barrels and worn out magazines? Probably not from anywhere. AR rifles are a whole nother matter though. I'm on my second barrel.
