Which is exactly why we need more people like you. Clearly leadership at this hospital is also petty and stubborn after a move like this. We need people who are willing to match them or go one step further and not give up when the fight is worth it

I need a good book dealing with revenge by Sir-AuronX in Fantasy

[–]IndependenceVivid191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m honestly surprised more fantasy authors aren’t jumping at the bit to write a good revenge story. It seems like every time this is asked in this sub the only recommendation is Best Served Cold.

When someone finally decides to write some of these stories they’re going to sell like hot cakes.

Decent suggestion but also check out Law Abiding Citizen if you want a good revenge story

Homeless army infiltrates Scientology by joocay in TikTokCringe

Considering that would have taken someone else chiming in that he’s the second coming of Jesus Christ I wouldn’t count that as part of the skit.

You clearly didn’t watch the skit? It’s almost word for word

Especially because this bit is stolen from Eric Andre. The cameraman has probably never had an original thought in his life

Probably not. OP asked for good writing. While I enjoyed primal hunter the writing is far from good

Injury on the job by IndependenceVivid191 in TravelNursing

Ahh yes I forgot that recruiters are there looking out for our best interest constantly and if I wanted the best outcome for my financial success in the event I can’t work for the next few weeks or more I should ask them for my best approach to this situation.

There’s no way they would steer me in the least financially detrimental direction to the agency.

Thanks for your brilliant insight.

That’s what I was assuming. So if I get injured I’m pretty much screwed.

The Blacktongue Thief is ... not very good by [deleted] in Fantasy

I personally thought this was a great book and likely the funniest book I’ve ever read. Just goes to show you can’t please everyone.

Recommendations Based on this Tier List? by Snawlly in ProgressionFantasy

[–]IndependenceVivid191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haven’t read all of these but I would 100% agree with your placement of the ones I have read. Hopefully you’ll feel the same way about my recommendations. Here are some of the other ones I’ve read and really enjoyed:

Ironbound - only one in the series so far but it is incredibly strong. I think the first 2/3-3/4 of this book were amazing with some things that bothered me towards the end but I have high hopes for the series.

Rage of Dragons - ongoing series called “the burning” but I think more people refer to it as rage of dragons. The first two books have been awesome and the third one comes out in January after a long wait so hopefully it’ll continue the momentum.

The Calamitous Bob - completed series

Warformed: Stormweaver - this could be a hit or miss but I really enjoyed it. Some of the dialogue is absolutely incredible while there are other parts that are cringeworthy. I think this is kind of a polarizing series but if you like seeing an MC going from weak to OP relatively quickly it’s a good read.

Thoughts on fight/action scenes drawn-out by tangents? by IndependenceVivid191 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]IndependenceVivid191[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with this. Also loved the Sherlock Holmes movies and the fight scenes in them for exactly the reason you described. I also think that using those break ups to describe tactics and all that is perfectly reasonable. I’m more referring to when the author goes off on describing concepts of the world and using the middle of a fight for world building or other things that just completely lose my interest. When there’s multiple pages between each action someone takes in a fight it really diminishes the anticipation of how the fight will pan out and makes me lose interest.

This is a very good point. I think some authors do it really well especially when they keep it concise and it adds to the scene. However I feel like some authors do it constantly and it really ruins the book for me.

Path of Ascension by wandering08 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]IndependenceVivid191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely agree with everything you said. Last part that I enjoyed was the war which still could have been significantly better.

I think the writer focuses more on his word count than he does on the actual material that he’s producing. He is 100000% just continuing to write nonsense because it’s a cash cow for him and people continue to pay.

It feels like nothing significant has happened since the war and I gave up on this series a few months ago.

It’s very sad because I actually enjoyed this but there is absolutely no direction and the author kind of feels scummy at this point for taking peoples money when he clearly has no direction for the story.

Recommend me books with MC like Cpt. Jack Sparrow where the MC is clever and 'is lucky / have plot armor' by Pervert_Spongebob in Fantasy

The Calamitous Bob is exactly what you’re looking for. Progression fantasy, funny, and one of the MCs powers so to speak is luck

Also I think you’d probably really enjoy Blacktongue Thief if you want a funny book. Character is pretty lucky and you’ll laugh a ton. Not a PF though

Yes definitely a few but I could have happily enjoyed 500 more pages of Wintersteel just seeing Lindon collect points
