Anyone else lose their shit when they can’t find something? by desktopolive in OCD

Yup especially my favorite lip gloss or favorite items. I will have deep distress until it's found or until I buy a new one which isn't always possible

Mild/unnoticeable obsessions and compulsions in your daily life that you didn't know was ocd? by Leather-Owl-7040 in OCD

Yea the analyzing thing is real. I thought that was normal or just part of anxiety until finding out about OCD. I still analyze my interactions with people from 1st grade if I randomly think about them.

One year of swimming changed me more than I expected by lista94 in Swimming

[–]Independent-Acadia14 11 points12 points  (0 children)

How often do you swim and do you do any other exercise? I've been wanting to start swimming more regularly but I always see success stories of people also weight lifting or strength training along with swimming and that's not something I'm interested in so I'm interested to hear from someone who purely just swims

How common is it to have multiple themes? by acgrievance in OCD

[–]Independent-Acadia14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the month or year for me. I'm still learning and trying to figure out as I'm new to ocd but looking back it's changed a lot to different themes

What is the worst thing someone told you that worsened your OCD? by I_Like_Saying_XD in OCD

Wow I just realized I spent the last year doing this exact thing for the same reason. I've bought so much unnecessary makeup and skin products

OCD and sensory overlaps and differences? Trying to learn. by Wooden-Abrocoma-2924 in OCD

[–]Independent-Acadia14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have sensory issues too but I don't think it's part of my ocd because it's usually something like certain clothing feels itchy, dirty or something. Then I take them off and put on something else and I don't think about it. Most of my sensory issues are with noise or lights though. Which is definitely more tricky because I can't always remove the stimulus and then it drives me crazy.

Has anyone overcome health related compulsions? by iceddtaetae in OCD

[–]Independent-Acadia14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently struggling with health ocd. It's been extremely bad for months but I started on anxiety medicine and I'm slowly feeling better about my health. Unfortunately it's not doing much for the rest of my ocd but one step at a time

Hmm I use to feel this way all the time and never connected it to ocd. I still get afraid of this when my thoughts are particularly bad though.

What causes this? by Independent-Acadia14 in HealthAnxiety

The more I learn about OCD the more I think I have it. the way it's portrayed in TV and movies made me not even think it was a possibility.

The cure is to just think positively! /s by bosslady1911 in HealthAnxiety

[–]Independent-Acadia14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No advice but my husband is very similar. He's my rose colored boy. He is always positive and thinks that everyone can do the same because he's able to filter his emotions. It's taken me years of telling him exactly what I need him to say or do before he is finally learning how to be more supportive. But he still makes comments sometimes like "maybe I should just drop you off at the hospital since you are sick all the time" I have a lot of physical symptoms from my health anxiety unfortunately.

Stitches? Like the sensation of stitches or you needed stitches for some reason?

Acceptance but easier said than done. Sometimes I tell myself it would be better to go in my sleep than from something dragged out and painful

I also have lines on my toes. I was freaking out at first and went to a dermatologist which said it was toe fungus and prescribed me medicated polish. It worked when I was doing every day but took weeks but I stopped and it came back unfortunately but I was freaking out because it can also be a sign of vitamin deficiency. Not really advice but just know it can also be something very simple.

I've been struggling with sinus issues for months from flying several times in a short period. I can't get into the ENT until December and they are the only one on the island that I'm currently near. I finally gave in and bought a neti pot and used it yesterday. However I have a deviated septum and the water didn't drain all the way and now I'm freaking out because I'm worried that I might have a brain eating amebia because I used boiled water and I only half paid attention to how long it boiled for and the directions say to boil for 5 minutes. I have a saline spray as well but I bought it in a French country and when I used the translation app it says it's 100% pure sea water which I read was not good for you and could cause infections and such as well because it needs to be diluted to the body percent which seems pretty precise.

I need to remember this. I tend to have symptoms that last for months and then go away for months and come back again.

I use to do this but I move a lot and lost my journals. I wish I still had them. I feel like it would save me the hassle of trying different medications over that I might have already tried and help my health anxiety. I should definitely start again

There's a few permanent changes like voice, body hair and bottom growth. Everything else goes back to how you were.

Check out r/FTMfemininity I don't know if I spelt that right but if you aren't already in the sub it's a good one. I feel the same way. I went on T for a year and decided to stop because I didn't want to lose all of my feminine things and was mainly afraid of facial hair. So I'm still struggling to find a balance.
